what is this? ive never had any incremental update problems since 10.4.6 and thats using Software Update. you only ever hear about problems here as the users that had no problems are usually passive about it (except in cases like this thread).

just do it.
 
They suggest I uninstall all 'startup' software like my virus checker....and bingo! Problem eliminated. 10.5.7 is all good. :D

Hmmmmmm... virus checker creating problems... how quaint ;)

No problems with the update on my MBP

Just my 2¢...

No problems with 10.5.7 on my two computers (see below). I used the large, "Combo" updater.
Haven't had time to do my wife's or kids' yet.
 
I had big time browsing performance issues after installing 10.5.7. ...lots of spinning balls...if you catch my drift.

first I thought it was my ISP but I plugged a PC running Win 7 into my cable modem and had no issues at all browsing. then I call Apple tech support. After running a couple of utilities they found some pieces of old apps in the startup areas of OSX that were causing some of the problems. they They suggest I uninstall all 'startup' software like my virus checker....and bingo! Problem eliminated. 10.5.7 is all good. :D

Would AppCleaner do a good job of getting rid of everything from a certain program?
 
Early 08 MB, no problems at all. Always good idea to reset pram and
repair permissions before doing system upgrade.
 
I've now completed all 5 at the house, no problems on any of them. 2 iMac's, 2 MacBook Air's, 1 Mac Pro completed with Software Update.
