iPod touch I'm going 5th Generation!

It's called a ringtone, the ipod touch does have a speaker

You'd pay around $1500 for that device because of the 500GB SSD lol.


I think there should be:
FM Receiver (I saw a tear down of a 3rd gen and there was one? wtf?)
GPS Chip
3.0MP Camera with 720p video
More RAM
THICKER device. Not iPhone thick or anything but it would be cool to have the iphone design maybe? Not sure but it needs to be thicker.
Different back material, please. Not glass but maybe like the iPad?
16GB, 32GB, 64GB and 128GB (pricey for a SSD I'm sure) models. Maybe an 8GB as some just use it for games and games only that don't take up too much.

I also think they should be a little less cheap and give us an accessory with it. Maybe a "Apple" case like the iPad (even though you bough that). Or a dock or better headphones. They charge $80 for their in ear headphones, does anyone actually have those? Haha
 
If everyone stopped comparing the touch to the iphone, it really is a great device. What mp3 player lets you do video chat with friends?

Although the lack of vibration is pretty retarded if you ask me.

I wouldn't spend that much on them. I've never looked up reviews or anything on them so I wouldn't know. I have some skull candy's and you can buy some of those for $10. I got the like $40 pair for around $15 on sale. I would get them because of the inline controls though. But the normal headphones are $30 from Apple and you can buy generic form for $5...

But yes, in my opinion they are too expensive for me.

DON'T BUY SKULLCANDY's.....I Purchased 8 Pair to sell for profit...6 of them have had to be returned due to defect, 4 friends who have them have had to send them in because of defects. They are not a quality product and the customer service is HORRIBLE! Slickdeals.net has even banned posts about their sales because of their horrible business practices.

I got my 32 GB, I'm in love.
256 MB RAM works quite good (hell, it's enough to run an iPad!), cameras are a bonus compared to previous iPod Touch iterations.
But true, IMO the 8GB doesn't make sense in terms of price tag/tech specs. Better go for the 32 right away.

Question: what use would we have of vibration on an iPod Touch

Me.

I'll just keep using my 3G and wait until Apple puts on a proper camera and the real retina display ( the one that is IPS ).

I've had like 4 or 5 pairs and only 2 have messed up. One pair someone ripped the wires out and the other I accidentally ripped an ear bud off - all good though.

Stock Apple headphones, Skull Candy and $5 generic brands are generally considered to be terrible.

My other in-ear headphones are $300 so I guess it's a matter of perspective. Apple's in-ear 'phone is actually a decent value.
 
3rd gen owner and I would've gotten the 4th gen if its memory was increased. Now I'm hoping 5th gen will see that increase. Until then I use the classic for most of my music and audiobook needs and toy around with the touch as long as my iPad is recharging. ;)

Yes, you are asking a lot because of that 500GB. 1GB RAM? WTH? This isn't tablet...

Well if your coming from a 3G iPod Touch, I would wait for the 5G... hopefully they will give the iPod Touch something better.

The High Resolution display is nice, and the upgraded Apple A4 chip is a wee bit faster...but not enough.

Camera on iPod Touch I don't care about...

What I really want is the same Glass front as iPhone with IPS display and 128GB Capcity and 512MB RAM.. I don't care about the Camera...
