I have $14 piece of crap GoPhone. I NEED a new phone this morning...not willing to camp ALL night to get one though.

I'm totally shocked they only had five 18Gb. Wow. Sorry you left without one. I guess anyone thinking 'oh I'll just wander down at lunch' is going to be sorely disappointed today.

The fact is that i got up early, at least i thought so, and i still was just close enough to get A phone in the queue.
13 phones in total i was in 10th place and there were 4 people behind me, the guy in last place is lucky i left now!!!
I guess already having one stopped me getting up even earlier!
Just wish that the online upgrading thing would work and would get me a phone in less than a month!!!

You've got Cameron Toll (CPW and O2 - I think?), Fort Kinnard (they used to have a phone shop, not sure which one), St James Centre, the Gyle(CPW), Princes Street(CPW * 2), think there is a CPW just off London Road umm, not sure where else.
I would maybe try the Gyle because I doubt it'll be too busy and at least if you don't manage to get one you can get coffee/breakie fairly easily.

Least the manager came out and told everyone. Thats the decent thing to do rather than wait till you all get inside.
Yeah, i would expect that though... not fair to let people hang on.
At least it was only an hour of my day wasted!

Fair enough. I have a colleague who didn't get through on O2 and we had originally intended meeting at our local store near work. She showed up just after 7 and is number 34 with another 20 or so behind her.
But no sign of the manager to tell them how many are available. I really think O2 have been bitten by their previous OTT launch that few people showed for and just aren't expecting this demand - I know the guy in that store on Tuesday when I spoke to him was sure they'd have lots left. 🙄

According to a friend in line at the o2 store at the o2 arena they only have 77 units, no idea on split though

That is bloody dreadful. I was going to head down to that store this morning too but I had a sleepy daydream about 6am about owning a white iPhone, and after looking at the unboxing photos of them in another thread I'm glad I stayed in bed !
Once again, UK are screwed over by O2, not Apple. I blame O2's complete lack of competence in handling the pre-ordering, management information gathering and stock ordering from Apple.
Why so limited numbers ? Why no White 16Gb option ?

Yeah. Rumour has it that the Apple stores *are* selling the white 16GB. So I'm waiting and getting one from Buchanan Street Apple Store (eventually...days?...weeks?)

But if you want to upgrade you have to do it with 02 or CPW so you are screwed (with the white one) for now.
