I'm just wondering... how is everyone able to upgrade without paying full price?

I keep an extra "emergency line" on my family plan, so that, among other things, I'm always eligible for an upgrade. It works out to about the same as the early upgrade price, but its paid over time, so the up front cost isn't as high, and there's other benefits to having the line

I wanted a 64GB for $399.
AT&T said no way we will let you upgrade. It's going to cost you $250 more for a total of $649.

Sold the old 4s for $400 so I am looking at a new phone for $250.

still have my parents on my plan. Use their upgrades.

Still on contract with my other phone. Got another number for this new one on contract. Will keep both phones. Senior plan for both that is cheap

Her iPhone 4 is unlimited data

I was on AT&T and tried to open my own account but actually her Verizon account is tied to my social security number from my old verizon days so I was forced to add a line to her (my) account for $199. (16gb ip5)

Anyway, since she is unlimited can I take her plan and she can take mine? I don't want her number, just her plan...


she uses basically no data per month, the unlimited is such a waste for her...
