For years I never used a case - from my 3GS to my XS and everything in between. Never used a screen protector either. Then when I got my XS Max, I added a case. Never took it off. I upgraded to my 13 Pro Max and got the Apple clear case. It was ok. It squeeks, is slippery and gets untold amounts of dust, lint, junk and whatever else under it.

Finally decided to just pull it off and go back to being nude. I LOVE IT! The phone feels better, looks better, easier to hold, not as bulky and it sticks better to my car magsafe charger! With the case it twisted easy. Now, it's pretty firm.

Yeah, not going back.

Keep that Apple care paid up.

I’m using a wallet case on my 13pm. I feel like it fits better in my hands and isn’t as boxy. Verda glide pro off Amazon.

I think I’m going to try nude and see how long it lasts. I do have Apple Care.

Do it. I have Apple Care too and will be fine. Never had an issue with any of my phones through the years. Even dropped a couple, no cracks. Just some nicks/dings on the bands.

You nudists offend me! Cover up, think of the children!

/s I actually admire your bravery and/or stupidity... I only wear Otterbox Defender Series, ugly but I haven't so much as cracked or dented any of my phones.

I buy a case with every new phone and it lasts a few months till the lint or in leathers case gets sticky and then I abandon it! much better without although I do have lots of light scratches on my 12 pro max screen as I keep forgetting about my keys! other than that its mint

Silver 13 Pro Max here. I’m in the nude as well and find it much easier to hold especially since Apple changed the design from the rounded edges. A case just makes it more difficult to carry and adds thickness and weight. Also, this phone is just too gorgeous to hide away in a case.

I do have Apple Care.

It's all fun and games until you drop it on a porcelain tile floor.
Exactly. When it comes to phones, the first things I do is install a tempered glass screen protector and a nice cushiony case. I've had way too many whoopsie moments with phones flying out of my hands.

Screen protector on my iPad's? That's not necessary for me as they don't leave my apartment. As someone previously mentioned, make sure the OP has Apple Care + just in case for one of life's "Oh ****" moments.

I just upgraded to an iPhone 13 mini, and after a couple of days, I returned to the Apple store and purchased the leather case. It doesn't add much weight or thickness yet does feel good in the hand and gives just enough protection. I no longer fuss about it.

I’ve never liked bulky cases which is why I always stick with the Apple leather case. They’re stylish without a lot of excess bulk like some other cases. The last time I went case-less was the with my iPhone 5s. I dropped it while getting out of the car and the screen shattered. Never again. To each their own, I guess.

At least the first thing you do is pop it into a case. The first thing I do with a new iPhone is accidentally drop-kick it across the grocery store parking lot while getting out of my car... ?.

The best 50$ I ever spent was the leather case on my XS, had it almost 2 years. Its got a fantastic patina and is so nice to hold.

I would’ve dared to go nude with any iPhone up to the iPhone 5/5s/5c, but all phones after that never allowed for a firm grip anymore. Especially the iPhone 13 Pro Max I have now. It’s too big and bulky for me to use case-less. ?

Did exactly that with my 13 Pro Max (naked) the other day.

Bounced once, then skidded across the floor face down. Nearly had a heart attack. First time I've dropped a phone in years. Also my first year going careless - that Sierra Blue is just too nice to cover up.

Not a mark on it. The glass is a world apart from my old X, which scratched going in and out of pockets.

I did that same sort of thing once with my old HTC Touch Pro. Dropped it on the sidewalk (walking to pick my kid up at her school), bent down to get it and my foot ended up kicking it 20 feet away from me.

The thing was a tank though (still is, I still have it) so shrugged it all off.

For me, it depends on the phone. I have a Pixel 3aXL right now, and for the price I paid, I can risk dropping it (I haven't. Yet). But if I'm laying out a grand or better for a 13 Pro/Pro Max, I'd probably toss a nice, thin case on it, even though it spoils the aesthetic (other than clear cases, which in my experience look like crap after a few months use) and adds bulk. To each their own...
