We waited each month for new updates and dissapointed every time...Sure the Itunes was cool but who pays for music??? I downloaded 1 song just to see how it worked and never open since..

Uhm... millions of iTunes customers pay for music. Believe it or not, lots of people actually believe content creators deserve to be paid for their efforts. I'm sure you expect to be paid in your job too.

In the Dallas/Fort Worth area you will be able to find them just like the org phone...I waited overnight last year thinking mobs and mobs would come selling the store out....It took over 3 days for the stores to sell out in my area...
The day of release people were walking into the apple stores at 9 pm and still getting phones without a problem

It's that initial rush that causes problems for stores which is why it's a bad sign the 5th ave store isn't closing here in NYC.

Those blackout dates for AT&T also point to a late June release. What is the motive behind giving up 2 months of sales though? The iPhone hasn't been available for a while.

A theory could be that they might drop online only and ship to stores in 2 weeks during the blackout date period. Who knows.

What will happen to the stock price, last time people were this prepared for an announcement and it didn't happen -- loyalist when away disappointed and the stock got hammered.

Likely the sell programs already programming in will dump the stock whether or not the announcement goes as planned (profit taking or disappoint).

Edit: Jim Cramer yelling SELL, SELL, SELL won't help.

Looks like I was nearly dead on with my predictions. My worst case didn't come true, although at the rate Apple is going with delays, it may be August before we actually see anything. It's a shame. I was really hoping I was wrong this time and we would've gotten firmware 2.0 at least out of today. But it looks as if we have yet another month to wait. I'm glad I didn't get too excited about today.

Well, if you go in with low hopes, it'll never fail you. It's worked flawlessly for me since the 90s. ;)

Seems like a trend that Apple has started since they have poked fun at MS for Longhorn/Vista delays.

Very disappointing keynote! I was really hoping for MMS, copy/paste and disk mode features in 2.0. I guess there is still hope since it won't be released until "early" July (my guess is July 11-15).
