i do not need a new iPad.i hardly use it. i have my desktop computer school and gaming and my iPhone 4S for mobile.

I'm so ready for the new one. I'm on an original iPad 1, purchased on launch day by my mother and handed down to me when she upgraded a couple years ago. It's still good for some things, but a higher rate of crashes lately and the fact that it can't run half the apps I have for my phone have made it time to upgrade. I have my eye on a 64GB Space Grey, which should pair nicely with my 64GB Space Grey iPhone 5S. Thursday is taking forever to get here!

Wow, I don't think there'll be many still rocking an iPad 2. Good on you for keeping it so long though. You've got the truly biggest update. Including all the features of iOS 6, 7 and 8. Wow.

My wife's iPad 2 and my iPad 3 are still running strong on iOS7.
No need for an upgrade for at least another 2 years. (I hope)

I don't understand the urge of some who want to upgrade every year just to have the latest and the greatest...
I can sum up a thousand other things I would rather spend money on.
The hassle about selling your 'old' device every year. Hoping you will get a decent new one with no or minor flaws.

My ipads have scratches, dents (I don't use cases) and when the time comes when they become really too slow or some/most apps aren't supported anymore, it will feel so good to get me a brand new device that has an all new design, is much much faster and has all those new features from the past generations I skipped.

How can you feel excited upgrading from the air 1 to the air 2 :D

Haha some people get excitement out of life this way! I'm excited for the announcement.. perhaps 2gb of ram and some form of new multitasking that's a few years too late? I don't get how people are set on buying the new product without knowing what's in it or what it can do though.

I'm an Air owner as well and I am incredibly excited to upgrade. Thursday can't come soon enough!

This!

I'm hoping for X3 Retina HD and iTouch. I've been using it since I got my iPhone 6 and it's such a pain not having it on the iPad, especially for 1Password.

I will be buying a 64GB iPad Air 2 if it finally gets 2GB of RAM. I want something that can last many years (la iPad 2) with several OS updates. Having an A8X would be nice so that it could finally run games at 1536p at the same FPS as 640p iPhones and it hopefully will have the 6 core powerVR series 6 GPU. A flash for the camera would also be nice and touchID would be welcome too :)

i typically upgrade every year....haven't been that excited iPad wise tho....I wasnt going to upgrade last year but decided to get a retina mini through t mobile for just the monthly payment.....Only thing thats kind of intriguing this year is touch id. I used it so much on my 5S and now my 6+ but I just don't use the iPad that much even less now that I picked up a used 11" MBA.....thinking about selling my iPad and using all the gift cards I have for a refurbed iMac when the retina comes out and the prices drop....don't really see a use for it especially now that I have a 6+

Agreed. There's seems to be a split in perspective around here. Half of us want best performance and are happy with current high-res retina screens. The other half would rather have higher ppi at cost of performance. Wonder how many of the latter owned an iPad 3. -_-

I'm anxious for it because I sold my Air for $500 about a week ago. Ever since I got my Retina Macbook Pro I don't use my Air as much as I used to but still decided to upgrade if I got a decent amount for it (Which I think I did). Now that I have actually been without it for almost a week, I realize how much I actually use it and how much I miss it. Just 2 more days!!!!

I usually upgrade to the newest gen every year...however this year I'll be sticking it out with my current Air.

Excited for Touch ID and Retina HD. And maybe shave some weight off that iPad Air.

2GB will be a pleasant surprise.

I'm excited for 2gigs of ram, but man the air just feels so cheap compared to the weighty, substantial 4 IMO. really on the fence knowing next year we will get the sweet iphone 6 form factor

I'll be excited if the new iPad air has a ground breaking new feature like split screen apps. Otherwise lighter, thinner, faster is the same old and doesn't change things by a great deal.

I love my iPad Air but I am getting a little worn out over the annual refresh cycles for Apple products. I won't be upgrading my iPad this year because there isn't enough for me to justify a major purchase like that. My iPad Air works great for me and my iPhone 6+ covers the rest of my needs. I just bought an iPad 4 for my kid because it's super cheap for its value. I'll wait til the next major refresh of the iPad.

I'm still on an iPad 2 and am unsure whether or not to upgrade. It's currently fine for my basic needs in a tablet. I'm considering a used MBP instead of the new Air as I need it for serious work which still isn't possible to really achieve on a tablet as of yet. Might wait for the Air 2 - anyone in the same boat?

I have an iPad 3, so i will be upgrading if it's worth it. I hope they increase the resolution like they did on the iPhone 6 and 6+ and touch ID would be nice, it's always good to have that added security.

I'm on iPad 3 and this past month it has really started to slow down, kicking me out of apps constently and such. Sometimes even the WiFi drops (Not Router) and I have to reboot the thing just to fix the problem. However I'm waiting to see if they announce the iPad Pro tomorrow even if it gets a early 2015 release (which it most likely will if real). However if the Pro isn't real and doesn't get unveiled then I'll be conflicted on whether to get a Air 2 or not.

I want to be excited. I want to love the iPad, but I just don't have love for it right now:

1. I want multitasking, where is my split screen? It takes too long to switch from 1 app to another.

2. As a student, there's terrible stylus support for the iPad, why can't apple come out with a stylus and competitive software to OneNote? Students would fall in love.

3. I wont buy the new iPad and have Apple come out with another new iPad in a few months and blindside me, which is what happened when I bought my iPad 3.

Unless they come out with OS X on the iPad, which opens up an entirely new realm of possibilities, I will sadly hold onto my iPad 3 and wait for something truly innovative to come out of Apple.

I am looking forward to picking one up. :D I think the iPad Air 1 will be like the iPad 2 if Apple keeps it around. I'd get rid of it completely and same goes for the iPad Mini.

Same RetinaHD screen as the Plus and 2GB, I'm in!

Might as well turn in my Air with AT&T Next since it doesn't seem to be worth anything on the market currently :(.

My Air is more than enough for me right now but if Apple introduces split screen multitasking only for the new iPads that I'll definitely upgrade. I can't believe it's taken this long for that to even be rumored.
