Really?
I didn't ask for "parallax" backgrounds.

Well, at least this is one thing you can turn off.

Settings > General > Accessibility > Reduce Motion > Set to ON

The description says it "reduces" the effect, but I have pretty sharp eyes when it comes to this kind of thing, and after turning reduce motion on I can't discern a parallax effect at all anymore.

Of course, I'm sure that won't be enough to sell you on ios 7, but it can be beneficial information for others reading this thread that don't know parallax can be turned off.

Yeah I don't really care if someone is ignorant enough to not upgrade to iOS 7.

Most problems are ID-10/T errors.

Apple doesn't offer choices.

The fact that they did here tells you a lot about how they felt internally about that feature.

Let me tell you something. If you Do Not update to iOS 7:

- You will not be able to use any game controllers that are going to be released in coming months that use the new game controller API's that were added in iOS 7. (You don't play games? Ok, fair enough)

- You will not be able to take advantage of the new Omnibar or tabs interface in Safari. (what's that you say? you use Chrome? great...I guess you like slower browsers that can't use the nitro engine).

- You will not be able to take advantage of iTunes radio.

- You will not be able to take advantage of the edge swiping gesture to go "back" and "forward" in apps that become updated for iOS 7.

- You will not be able to take advantage of the new camera app features such as the popular filters and swiping between the different camera interfaces.

- You will not able to take advantage of the background refresh which will learn what apps you use and when so it is always updated when you open it.

- You will not able to take advantage of the newer more polished Siri

Now, tell me again how you are willing to lose all the functionality/features above because you don't like the colors and icons??

This is getting ridiculous.

"I don't want the new <insert car make and model>. It has blind spot mirror warning...I like to manually check my blind spot myself"

I'm certainly not.

1 - I've been using game controllers for nearly a year now thanks to blutrol.

2 - All of my apps that use java can use nitro thanks to a tweak I installed.

3 -Pandora does fine

4 - I can assign specific actions to over 20 different gestures and taps

5 - The camera part you may be right but if I look hard enough on cydia I could probably find something.

6 - Auxo does similar for me now.

7 - You are correct for the time being. But I have Google search mapped to my home button anyways.

So yes I'm jailbroke and yeah it's not a direct comparison but no way I'm upgrading until 7 is jailbroke. I would lose way too much functionality and ease of use. If I was enduring vanilla iOS 6 no question I'd upgrade.

New features is good, I have no quarrels with new features. However, "iOS has become boring and stale"? I don't mind if my phone is boring, as long as it works. A lot of changes in iOS 7 are focused on looks, rather than functionality. For instance, the old font was perfectly legible. As far as I know, the only reason it was changed was because some people thought it was "boring and stale." Now the new font may be "stylish and fresh," but I have trouble reading it. That kind of change, I can do without.

On, and in the rush to change the look of things, a lot of functions went missing. Just look at all the threads complaining about missing functions in Calendar and Music. So now we are back to complaining about missing basic functions and waiting for them to be added back. Talk about stepping backwards... :(

Understand something. Apple wants new customers. They are trying to get new customers with more colorful phones and a more brighter OS and it's working. As it stands the gold iPhone 5S is selling like crazy in China and preorders for the yellow 5c are sold out.

1. I have zero interest on game controllers and I have no intend to play games on 4 inch screen. I have not seen any game controller designed for iPad. So game controllers are not issue for me

2. There is a jailbreak app to get Omnibar and it works better than iOS 7 one. So that is not a issue for me. Plus, there is a jailbreak app allows you download stuff from Safari.

3. iTunes radio is not available in Canada.

4. There are lots more better camera app than native camera app that offering better selection of filters.

5. I don't care about swipe gesture.

6. Siri is still useless to me

You Sir tell me, why should I update to iOS 7 (Although I updated anyway) if i can get everything on iOS 6 + lot more jailbreak apps? Amount of changes on iOS 7 does not out weight jailbreak.

We're not talking about jail broken iPhones here bud.

A lot of users who aren't upgrading to iOS 7 aren't necessarily using jailbroken iPhones bud. A jailbroken iPhone running iOS 6 has MORE features than iOS 7 has to offer natively. Auxo zephyr gridlock. All those tweaks are really nice. Don't tell me you wouldn't install iOS 7 once a jailbreak is out for it. :)

It's very simple. Just don't read them.
