iMac 27 - 2017 - adding memory help...

i have a 2017 27 iMac with 16gb

Apple put in 2x8 sticks

I just ordered 2x16 to bring me to 48gb 🙂

Do I need to relocate the existing smaller sticks or just put in the 2 empty sockets ?

I read some stuff online that the larger sticks should be in the 0 sockets ?

No just place them in the empty sockets.Sometimes you do have to press them in firmly making sure they click in. Reboot and check out all are showing. Crucial and OWC for memory.
