Like everyone else, I'm on Tiger.10 at the moment, which I was upgraded to via the OSX auto-update feature. Is that going to be it for me, or can I realistically expect that once Leopard streets that I'll be able to get it in the auto-update package?

????
Sorry man, you'll have to pay for Leopard.

Asstasm. Ah well. One could've always hoped.

Aye... the only time that ever happened was between 10.0 and 10.1

OSX was so crummy to start with, they gave 10.1 as a free update! I know, cause I had it....

Have to say, the levels of performance OSX has gone through, 10.5 should be a superb release.

I'm still not buying it till 10.2/3 comes out (or if I cant hold myself back) Whichever comes first =)

How hard is it to install a new OS on Mac? I've probably gotta go buy my new iMac tomorrow (have credit at Best Buy that is expiring) and an applecare guy told me he would send me Leopard when it came out, to compensate me for the trouble he put me through. Don't have that in writing though.

BUT, if he doesn't send it, or it is a bear to install, I'll be kicking myself that I didn't just wait and buy an iMac with Leopard already on it.

Do you suppose the iMac price will go up when they upgrade to Leopard? At Best Buy, that is.

Why don't you just buy yourself a Best Buy gift card with the store credit and wait until Leopard comes out?

Worked fine for me in the past! It will buy you time to wait.

Imac - Buy now.

I would buy it now. You won't regret it.
I was faced with the same decision last weekend and I went ahead and took the plunge. An Apple saleseman had pitty on me and gave me 12% off, which will more than pay for the Leopard upgrade.

Cheers.

Thanks srichart1,

I took your advice and managed to save 10%!
