Nope it's this week. 99% sure.
How will they have it in stock in time if the stores aren't receiving boxes yet?

Yep, my money is on a Monday December 31st release for the 27".Haha that's the last day of November, typical apple style!if that is "releasing IN November" is debatable.

How ridiculous!
Every week it's the same. Since June: "It's this tuesday or this friday! blabla".
It's a never ending story. And if it's not tomorrow or this friday, then it's december 4th or 7th and so on.
Nobody knows the exact release date. All people are just guessing the date. It could be every tuesday or friday till 2013.
from MacWorld they saying they expected to hit store on this Friday along with 27" pre-orders will be taken...... Liking the sound of this!
Actually Apple seems perfectly capable of having stuff delivered today for sale in the store today. But they do like to have the display units on hand the night before if possible.Because they need boxes tonight to sell them tomorrow. Not before. And there's no real secret on the content of the boxes so an employee is unlikely to risk their job by uploading a pic.
I did read two weeks ago in one of those no-really-those-initial-rumors-are-wrong-and-the-iMac-is-coming-out-in-November-after-all articles that the iMac would go on sale on 11/27. It said that both the 21" and 27" would be on sale, with the 27" expected with a delay in shipping.
I'll try to find the article again so you guys can tear it to shreds...
I really need a new iMac for the office - and I'd like to get the purchase on the books for this fiscal (and calendar) year - but I really worry about the high potential for quality issues in this new product. I may just wait for a few months to see how the dust settles.
I figure quality issues, if there are any, are Apple's problem, not mine. Ok, a little inconvenient for me, but expensive for them if I need to take it in multiple times for warranty issues. For this reason I believe they will have worked very hard to not see all their pretty little machines walking back in the door.
There is something totally wrong here. How could Apple miss Black Friday without a single iMac for sale?
I tried to buy the older 21.5 inch model in an Apple store 3 weeks ago - they were all gone, as were the refurbished iMacs as well. There has not been an iMac for sale for a month ....
Someone has really screwed up something in the design or manufacturing of the new models.

I was wanting to get a 27" iMac on my 2012 taxes

The only one screwing up badly here is Tim Cook, who should move himself back to the COO position - he doesn't have the bandwidth to focus on more than supply-chain aspects.
Since his taking the reins as CEO, supply issues have become more and more the norm at Apple - a CEO provides the vision, something he does NOT have.
