iMac G5 Ship Dates

Not the computer, but...

I did receive my printer today. Hopefully the iMac comes soon so I can get the rebate sent in before the 30 days is up? Also, it says my AirPort Express should be arriving on the 10th. I'll be like a kid in a candy store with no money :(

Had to call in to fix the automatic upgrade to 1 Gig ram.
What's up with that? (!)

Yep. Same thing happened to me, and I KNOW I didn't submit it by mistake. I have a confirmation email at 512 MB, yet the online order status stated: 1 G.

So, I called in, and after everything, the shipping date slipped one day.

Oh well. Bush happens.
 
Here's my details: 20 " w/ BT and extra memory, ordered 31 Aug. at the very moment the AppleStore was up again, delivery on or before 5 Oct.

So I guess it'll be a bit quicker for americans?

I guess so. I thought these first orders were to be shipped directly from Asia so I'm surprised it would take any longer. Either way, we're all waiting for a bit!

October 5th isn't too bad. I'd like to know what the predicted delivery dates for new orders is now . . . maybe we should be glad we ordered when we did.
 
Man, Apple is harsh. I received my printer, now I just received my Airport Express...but still I'm an unknown amount of time away from being able to use everything exactly the way I want to.

I think I'm going to order a Aiport Extreme Base Station from the Sale portion of the Education store, the one with out the modem. Then I'll use it along with my Express to set up my wireless network (I should be able to do that with my iBook). That way, as soon as I get the computer I'll just plug it in and be on the network!

Oh Apple, how you make me wait...
 
Whats the Deal?

So whats the deal?

Online orders are saying the end of September/ early October... The local Apple stores are saying the 12th or 13th of Sept.

Which is right? Or are both right?

Do the retail stores get them before confirmed online orders?

Ordered 31/08, also a few minutes after norwegian the store came up again:

17"/1.8Ghz, all default but AE card

on or before 28/9 :)
 
I ordered my first one 8-31 at 9:06am cst. Then I realized I wanted BT and wireless keyboard and mouse so I cancelled my first order and reorderred at 9:36am cst.

Later I checked my order and it was spec'ed at 1gb ram (I had ordered 512) but I decided to just let it ride not wanting to slip farther down the list. I just checked my order and Apple had Automatically cancelled the 1gb order and had fixed my order to 512 ram.

My expected ship date is on or before Sept 29.
 
do you bluetooth folks really want to switch batteries in your mouse?

ordered a 20" w/ 250 gb hd on Aug 31 in the am...shipping on or before the 29th as everyone else...
also received printer right away, this must be apple's way of screwing us out of the rebate, eh? Does anyone know if that will happen if the computer doesn't arrive in a timely fashion :eek: ?
 
If my 17", 1.6 stock ordered on 9-4-04 doesn't arrive on 10-5-04, I shall be very put out. Every time I start to hold my breath I wear out, get dizzy and have to start over again. I'll be glad when it's all over and I can trade-in my v2.2 for an Air'card and the Air'Express. :D

Ordered a 20" iMac with 512MB RAM (1 DIMM) over the phone with education pricing.

Order Date: September 10, 2004 at 7:17 PM PST

Estimated Ship Date: October 12, 2004

That's over 4 weeks away, so it looks like iMac ship dates might already be starting to slip as demand builds.
 
printer shipping/ rebate

just got off the phone with apple... they claim the folks at the rebate center will "understand" that your rebate is sent in late because you had to wait for imac delivery and that the rebate will still be valid, despite the time limits on the rebate claim form.

hey!

just ordered a 20in, 1.8 ghz, bluetooth keyboard and mouse with 512 memory.

just for the record, when you order the bluetooth mouse and keyboard, that includes the internal module doesnt it?

anyway, shipping estimate of 11th of october to the uk.

Nice! I saw the order status screenshots you posted here. It looks like you changed your order from 17" to 20". So how did you manage to get such an early ship date?

It does. That will be one sweet setup. i can't wait to order mine (w/o bluetooth and wireless keyboard/mouse unfortunately).

You lucked out! I am waiting to receive my shipping email now that I saw that your machine shipped. I ordered on 08/31/2004 02:45 PM PST, but the computer wasn't stock.

It may be that the stock ones are shipping starting today.

When did you order BigE? I'm envious. I ordered mine Aug 31 at 9:36am cst. I checked my status and it still seys Sept 29.

I did go for the BT module keyboard and mouse and I hope that doesn't delay my iMac ship date much.
