Hello,

I would like to upgrade an iMac 2011 27inch to a xeon processor (e3-1280).

However, the iMac also serves as good monitor for a mac pro. From what I gathered online, xeon will work but it would loose sleep function. Does target display mode put the imac in sleep function? if so, would it freeze the system and be useless?

Kind regards and thanks!
