hahah "computer at the library" can be the next "G5 Powerbook" joke for the rest of the year.

kidding aside, to the OP: you're better off getting an iMac. Unless you just wanna burn money and wanna buy another macbook/mbp before college to keep up with specs/the zeitgeist, you're better off with a desktop. And you're getting better specs than a macbook.

Ok then do you mind telling us what do you need a Mac for?So we can guide you!Or else you'll hear opinions about everything!:)

i just want a change
for
word
email
games ( mac games)
photo editing
and abit of video editing

In all honesty I had a laptop since i was 15 and i dont see a reason why this kid cant have a laptop. Not sure why you are throwing comments like "library computer" or saying he can't take care of it.
I'm getting my cousin, a freshmen, a blackbook for his birthday (not my money just making the purchase). Come to think of it most people in my family have a laptop by the start of high school or when they turn 15/16. I feel you are independent in high school and really do use the computer a lot now days.
Having a portable is great because you can use it on the couch, take it to your friends house, surf/watch videos in bed, etc. With that being said I would go for the MacBook. If you need more real estate down the road you can save up for an external monitor.
Cheers!

Then go with macbook. Those stuff don't need very good specks so you'll be fine with a macbook!Cheaper than iMac but pretty good.

And you'll be able to carry it around as you want!;)

what about a case
that i can put like the pwersupply and that in
not 1 of them sleve 1s

As for my comment i didn't mean to offend him.But he's 15.He'll jump around with it.Then it'll be filled with scratches!! I don't say that he won't actually take care of it but because of his age a laptop won't be the best choice.Of course i've seen 20year old girl(which means that her laptop should glow) having a laptop that it was disgusting!I felt sorry for the thing! But that's not because her age! It's because her stupidity!

are u a idiot
i dont jump around with my laptop no 1 does
and in australia we dont take out computers to sc hool

From what I've heard, go with an iMac. you get more bang for your buck that way, and when/if you go to college, You'll have a nice desktop, as well as a new macbook/whatever else is out at the time. You can't go wrong!

Besides, the macbook's advantage is portability, and if you don't need portability, don't spend the extra money on a macbook.

One word... stereotypes!!!

My brother who is about 10 years younger than me and is still in high school has a Rev A MacBook and aside from a logicboard failure which wasn't his fault, and Apple Care (first year) replaced, the machine looks brand new and there isn't a scratch on it. The thing looks as good as mine, which is only a week old.

There some are some that are careless, but there are people who are very careful.

If you don't need the portability, go for the iMac. Really nice big screen, a dedicated graphics card, nice keyboard, and bigger/faster hard drive. Either model is great, but the 24" is impressive.
