Those are two HBR2 connections. Is DSC enabled (Reg: 000160) for either connection?

In the previous AGDCDiagnose, only port 2 supports DSC but it is disabled. It advertises HBR2 speed. port 3 does not support DSC. It also advertises HBR2.

It seems that the firmware update did not change the HW Version or FW Version reported by DisplayPort in the AGDCDiagnose output. Did it change the firmware version reported by Thunderbolt?

Did you check the timing info in SwitchResX to prove that you aren't just looking at the frame buffer size? Double click the current resolution in the Current Resolutions tab to show Pixel Clock, Active, Scale To, Scan Rate. Pixel clock should say something like 1285.82 MHz to prove it's 6K timing.

firmware for Pro Display XDR has been released

blackmagic egpu 1.2 update (latest downloads)

on mine (normal version with radeon pro 580), the firmware version went from 26.3 to 50.3

could anyone test if now the display works at 6k with imac pro+blackmagic egpu?

I have a iMac Pro and ust ordered the XDR Display. For 6k, do I need the BM eGPU Pro or can I get away with the BM eGPU (the non-pro version). Thanks for any help!

Both models support the XDR Pro display at 6K with the 1.2 firmware update per BlackMagic.

Thanks. i want things to work and look as great as they can. If I’m understanding it, the BM eGPU units would essentially replace and bypass my iMac Pro’s graphic card. So if I opt for the standard BM eGPU would i be opting for less graphics power than my iMac Pro on its own? If so, that wouldn’t be good and i presume the fix would be to get the BM eGPU Pro? Is that correct?

it is possible? theoretically any imac pro wouldn't get 6k due to an inability of the thunderbolt 3 version that equips these macs
Insufficient evidence of 6K. They did not show output from AGDCDiagnose showing dual HBR3 connection (not possible with iMac Pro since it has Alpine Ridge) or HBR2 with DSC connection (not possible with iMac Pro because Vega 64 doesn't support DSC). A picture from SwitchResX showing the 6K timing would also be sufficient evidence.

I think what they have is a 6K frame buffer sending a 5K signal (dual HBR2).

The BlackMagic eGPUs have Titan Ridge TB3 controllers in them per reviews, so yes.
Compare to old generation Alpine Ridge,Titan Ridge support DP1.4(So it can run dp links on HBR3);But it seems that Titan Ridge only can hold 4 HBR3 lanes.

I replied in your new thread, since iMac Pro can't output HBR3.
