Well, technically it is, just don't count on getting to it yourself unless you're brave enough to peel off the screen (and void your warranty). This is nice... but if iMac Pro was really “pro”, the memory would be upgradable.

$15,848.00 max price. Into scientific workstation territory.
$26k in Australia, crazy...$15,848.00 max price. Into scientific workstation territory.
Maxed out (education pricing): $14,229.00 (didn't upgrade from the Magic Mouse 2 or add the VESA mount adapter). That's more than I like to spend on my cars.
It is comparable with Apple's historical high end prices though (adjusting for inflation).
There's nothing about a "pro" device that suggests it ought to be user-upgradable.This is nice... but if iMac Pro was really “pro”, the memory would be upgradable.
Sorry but if you didn’t know they way over charge for upgrades..And that's fine. Pay for your required needs.
Because many users are waiting patiently for mac pro..that’s why. It's a great product in its own right. Some people are always going to want cheese graters, but some have found that TB3 actually does work. I own 3 cheese graters, fine for what they are, but yep, do like my iMac Pro as well. You can call it a distraction, but I consider it a great option and would probably consider it even IF there was a new cheese grater. Either way, no real skin off of your back so why begrudge it?
Sadly, unless you are buying a used car, I have bad news for you.Maxed out (education pricing): $14,229.00 (didn't upgrade from the Magic Mouse 2 or add the VESA mount adapter). That's more than I like to spend on my cars.

Five Thousand dollars for 256G of memory. I fear the price of the upcoming Mac Pro will be a total rape fest. Greedy is ok, it's your product to make and sell but does it have to always be so crazy premium priced? Five grand for memory?
I bet a lot of people, including small businesses would rather build a thread-ripper machine for a lot less. You can now get a 32 core 2990WX CPU for less than 2 grand.
Not really. Pro means professionals can use it.. and they 100% can. This is nice... but if iMac Pro was really “pro”, the memory would be upgradable.
