Finnnnnnnnlllllaly!!!!

waiting a full year!!!!

I see the rumours of the imac coming in the last days and I simply can't believe it.

It will be interesting to see why, if for any reason, these are 6 months late.

because it took six months to engineer a case that no-one, except the foolhardy or iFixit, will want to open and make some handy upgrades....

gradually, Apple is eliminating all customers with a bent on making their own little upgrades, like replacing the DVD with a caddy + SSD, fitting their own SSD with handy cables by OWC.

I've come to the conclusion that Apple really 'hates' a certain subsection of it's users, people like the folk who come on these forums looking for advice on how to fit an SSD in a 2009 iMac.

If this is the case with the new iMac, it'll have to be a new 'old style' MBP, one of the few remaining Apple machines that can be 'upgraded' without paying the Apple Tax.

I have a perfectly good 2010 iMac so I won't be upgrading but I sure do love new releases. Looking forward to it :)

Yes, because Apple is going to release 4 new lines on the same day... I reckon Apple have taken the approach of killing rumours by flooding blogs with so many rumours that no one can know which is true and which isn't.

Maybe it took them 6 months to install on Noah Ark before end of 2012, hence the delayed to us

This sounds like good news for those awaiting the new iMac's. However, if they're going to be released a day after the anticipated iPad Mini event, I seriously doubt we'll see a majorly updated design as some have speculated. I would like to think they'd use an event to show off a refresh of the design.
So I am thinking another round of spec bumps is what we'll see this year.

You waited a full year for a computer? Do you really use them for productive work or is it for show?!? You the novelty wears off right?!? Buy When you need unless you're looking to buy and the update was/is a few weeks away!!

I'll buy on 2nd iteration of this new iMac personally

Why don't we update the iPod Classic while we're at it??

I'm going to go out on a limb and say the following...I could be wrong.

Ipod classic will be EOL'd...it can't connect and stream itunes content so the whole integrated user interface that Apple has put into place the past few years doesn't apply to the classic ipod. Unless, and I doubt they will do this...touch screen it up and allow it to connect to content streams such as app store and itunes. The whole point of ipods now is games, apps, music, movies etc all purchased from Apple central.

Back on topic: Honestly I was THIS close (.) to caving and buying a 2011 refurb even though I need a BTO and they only have second rate ones available in my area. At least now I know the money I do spend on it (should in the end i decide to buy it) will be on current hardware vs 500+ day old.

EDIT: I've never really gone by the stock, I've always built to order my mac's from the online store. Having built a number of computers over the past week, the last being the imac to view and compare price points. Today was the first day I did it to the IMAC and there was a 2-3 week wait time for a BTO. Possibly another sign ;).

REALLY hope this is accurate. Now just for some "premature specification," as Steve once said.

But with this, the iPad mini, the 13 MacBook Pro, the mac Mini and whatever else, it's either going to be one huge day or some group of someones are going to be very disappointed.

YaHOOOOOO!!!!!!! Been waiting a while for this and hope its worth the wait .... Hopefully they don't make them thinner and lighter like iPhone 5.... Haha

They'll be all vertical and extra long, so you can reach everything with just ONE outstretched arm.

Wondering if they scratch easily?

Hope to see USB 3 and a new design.

Granted, I think the design of the iMac is fine, and you can't expect some major flip-out design coming. It'll be good if they just streamline it a little, thin it out, etc., lighten it up a tad.

Can't wait to see the performance.

About time. I've been waiting to b a Mac Pro for a year and a half now, but with no update in sight I might just go for an iMac instead.

That'll cheer people up. Now just the mac pros

I'll second that! My early2008 is getting a bit laggy. I'm hoping the 2013 model will be called early2013.

While we're talking wish list, can I have a new 30" cinema display as well (not fussed about retina)? ;-)

Very please d for all the people who are waiting for an iMac though. Is the MacPro the only item now waiting a refresh? (I don't consider the 2012 a refresh, more a marketing diversion)

Not to get too off topic, but that describes all the iPods save one. Apart from the Touch, none of them can stream or play games or connect to the cloud, including the Nano that came out last week.
