As I recall I took a 4 month hiatus after contributing to John123's need for therapy. As for the rest of Y'awl ........ bring it on. I can cook any single one of you at straight debate. (expertise-wars, like rules lawyering is always the loophole tho.....)

What happened, is that macrumors became a forum instead of a battleground. Personally, I think that's an improvement, not a problem.
To keep this on topic: I think that we will be seeing an LCD iMac (The release of the Sahara, Apple buying up all those 15" LCDs, and the whole thing with Quanta is pretty strong evidence.)
I think we won't be seeing a G5 though. (and if we do it won't be in that stupid dodecahedron case that some people were talking about.)

that was the best thing about john123.. he would read out a a dictionary and just put down anything that sounded 'smart' on his posts..
bad thing was that he would always analyze every word anyone ever posted and make sure you didn't mispell anything.. i grew weary of this...

True trrueee, you guys speak sense. HOnestly, John123 actually must have realized that his constant battery by the rest would only lower his self esteem. But no seriously, what is happening to this forum. THE MOST BORING PERSONALITIES ARE ENTERING AND TRYING TO ARTICULATE their thoughts and hoping to recieve awards!! I mean, all the topics are so lame. Im hangin on a real thin thread here...

old school and really old school
i am from the really old school on macrumors and the site is like the tide, in for a few months and out
either people are "on topic" and things are civil and somewhat boring and predictable or they go way off topic and get into wars which has nothing to do with macs but are much more interesting
i am the only one who has stuck around for two cycles...on topic, flamewar off topic, on topic, and flamewars off topic, and now we are entering the predictable on topic speculations again
i see what you posters who like the flamewars are complaining about but like the tide a whole new cast of warriors will fill the boards with another major flamewar season
chances are very few of you will be around to see it but its worth the wait if you are patient
i especially enjoyed john123, spikey, monkeybusiness, kela, and mymemory from the summer and fall of this year
in the flamewars before that, anonymousposter, anonymous coward, and the pctroll really heated things up in 2000 and early 2001
the new and third installment of flamewar warriors has started with joeyj and others and they will take us into 2002
and like always i will be neutral and be one of the boring ones

Joeyj and his bumchums dont flame, they just post the same thing over and over even though you verbally destroy what they have said. Then they ask for quotes to prove their ignorance to you.

...were like world war one and world war two where the two sides engaged each other in real time in the context of a common battlefield
i do admit that taking partial qoutes from different times and different arguments might seem unfair and cowardly, but this new round of flamewar is like terrorism
it is a hit and run type of flamewar taking others' comments out of context and using partial quotes and i do believe it is a version of a flamewar
it's not the same as what i have seen here or anywhere else, but somehow with my limited knowledge of macs, i can still learn facts from you vs joeyj

At the end of the day you prove your point and beat them to s*** and yet they still repeat the same sentence. Its tedious and doesnt achieve anything, infact its pathetic. this style isnt flaming because it doesnt achieve a flame, it only shows how stubborn you are, and that you cant prove s***.
There is no hit and run part to this "style", because there is no hit in the first place.
