According to ARS Technica, Apple have agreed to use Quad Core Processors in the new iMac.

Which CPU do people think will be used? This might change my mind from buying a mac pro.

I'd like to know what their sources are, they only mention the "DigiTimes" and don't say anything else as to who said what.

I'd be willing to bet that the new iMac has quad core.. it's definitely overdue. I'm getting my new iMac after Jan 5! woohoo!

If they put that 2.9ghz quad in an imac, I would seriously consider selling my G5 and buying one.

    quad core imac

i hope they do use quad core processors in the imacs because i have been looking for a new desktop because my current one is getting kinda old and i was trying to decide between the high end imac and the mac pro but if they put a quad core in the imacs then i will definitely go for the imac:apple:
