dell have a pretty sweet deal right now if you buy one of their towers you can get a 27" ultrasharp half price with it. Very tempting. I am holding out until the 1st of September before I decide whether to wait for the next imac or get an alienware.

Wow .. wait! You can!
Not exactly the greatest or sleek-looking solution, and it's kinda wobbly product. But you can :D

You have just given me a great idea! But until I clicked the link...It's iMac only. Getting a PowerPC Mac.

As you can tell, I'm incredibly cheap.

If I had an iMac, I'd buy that. I love the idea of an All-In-One touchscreen computer, like an HP Touchsmart and a few others, I think Dell makes one too. But who knows, perhaps Apple will add one sometime? But that'd probably boost the price of the iMac however.

I agree with OP it is way over priced. But I hate windows BSOD (blue screen of death). And viruses like the desert isle of any grocery store. Too many and to hard to ignore.

Like a car. It is expensive. But a lemon would need a ton of brakes oil and filters, etc. And being stranded in the middle of nowhere is not fun nor safe these days. So saving the money is not always wise.

Mac = "Money and Cash" for apple. But peace of mind for us. Apple would go bankrupt if they sold everything at dell prices.

I don't have a problem with the Windows BSoD, because it's rare for me. I take care of my PC's. It's only started appearing on my main desktop only because it was my fault, I overclocked the CPU waaay more than it should be able to handle - from 2.11GHz to 3.5GHz. I had it sitting there for a week then I moved it down to 2.80GHz and it's likely that that's the reason I have bad capacitors.

Anyways, if you have virus problems, the answer is simple, just get an antivirus software! If you can't pay for a good one (Like Kaspersky, when I get my Mac, the first thing I do with it is get Kaspersky for Mac, viruses are on the rise on Macs which is scary) there are a few good free ones such as Avast!. And, don't click on links you don't recognize or trust, same goes for Ads and emails.

I don't think Apple would go bankrupt if they sold Macs at Dell prices, I mean, look at the sales of the iPhone, iPod and iPad and their accessories. Apple's already made millions on the iPad alone. But then again, maybe they would, it's just a speculation.

You could have both an iMac or an Alienware. iMac for regular computing and Alienware for HD Gaming. I think that's a great idea, just gotta have the money...

Well I do have the money for that but I am not that reckless haha. I only need one computer and I am no massive gamer.
