iMac With 10-Core M4 Chip Supports 8K Display at 60Hz [Updated]

A big deal would be if the display it comes with supported 120hz or 8k and 120hz. What's the point of this? Just buy the new mini with the same chip set and your 8k display. Is someone going to offset the iMac to the left or right side of the desk having the 8k 120hz display front and center?
If you can see it or not depends on the size of the screen and your distance from it. I think you'd not notice the difference on a 24-inch screen but you would notice it on a 100-inch screen. 100 seems big but I can imagine editing video and I'd want a near theatrical size screen to watch it on.
I can't see this being useful to more than a couple of hundred people.
FYI, 4K at less than 32" is a waste... you would need a really huge screen for 8K to even be visible.
I personally don't see a difference with 60 vs 120Hz either, but maybe some do... But you're going to need a giant $20,000 monitor and a huge desk for this.

Interesting. On the apple.com/ca (Canadian) site, the Tech Specs do say 2x6K@60 or 1x8K at 120Hz.
My two screen captures are with tabs that were loaded literally minutes apart.
What's with Apple lately, every other hour there is a new mistake.

Hold on. It is clear that even Apple itself doesn't know what should be listed right now. And different regions page may just be slower to be corrected.
Technically, it makes much more sense to not yet supporting 8k120 in any capacity before TB5, since this would have meant enabling DP2.0 alone within the TB4 port where this isn't even required by the TB specs.
What did they say?Also makes a lot more sense when it turns out that Max Tech is wrong.
I am much more amazed by Apple not catching this, almost 12 hours in after the announcement.
EDIT: I see what you meant. I have no idea why macrumors chose to quote Max Tech on 8k120 when the bit is (was) literally in Apple website specsheet. This is a case of Apple ****ing up, and everyone including Max Tech and us just followed along.
So the magic is disclosed. Just a typo of 60Hz.USB4v2 can do 80 Gbps bidirectional or 120 Gbps asymmetrically. You've got to hand it to the USB-IF: they really know how to confuse people with naming - why not just refer to it as USB 5? Who knows?

The Studio Display is a great display (never understood the hate against it), I got two of them and didn’t look back.
If it makes you that uncomfortable, then you could just return it (if you got the option) but guaranteed those will be a whole lot more expensive not to mention the need to also buy an M4+ Mac.

8gb of ram STILL costs 200.00. a 1TB 'upgrade' (lol) is still 400.00. Guess that's all fine and dandy then. The real version..ahem..has a whopping 2 more EFFICIENCY cores, not performance cores...on a desktop computer?

It's great to love your mac or your iphone..but other well informed techies and consumers understand the rereal ways appple screws us over, even when we are all in.

So yeah..im not complaining, um no. Just calling out the folks who constantly whine about critical views of apples moves. Its so useless..trying to defend apple in comments..for what. Ots just hardware and it is what it is. Some good moves, others are crap and should be criticized.
So yah..complain all you want ABOUT THE HARDWARE...why should I care. I read to learn about specs and capabilities, not telling others to hush because I dont like that they said.

Well, crap. Turns out it was an error and Apple corrected it… 8K60 is the official spec
