Hi guys,

I bought my BTO iMac about 2 hours after Lion was released and was wondering the very same question, which led me to this post (with no information). Well, my iMac just arrived today, and guess what?

It comes with Lion.

It even comes with the new Lion keyboard!

Just in case you wanna know!

Thank you so much!! I ordered the high-end 27" with everything maxed out the night Lion was realeased and was hoping Lion would be pee-installed! Thanks so much for the pictures too!!

question - for those of you who've received an iMac with Lion pre-installed, did you also get recovery disk DVDs, and do you know whether those DVDs are Lion or Snow Leopard?

thanks!
Mark

I ordered a BTO with 1TB HD and 256GB SSD. Ordered mine on the 7/19 and I received it on the 7/26. Mine came pre-installed with 10.6.7. Personally I was glad that it came with Snow Leopard as Lion was now "free" upgrade as I have three Macs in the house.

I am also happy to report that the 27" iMac came with a WD 1 TB HD and the LCD panel did not suffer from any yellowing. It's a keeper. I am not sure if mine was an isolated case.

Bizarre does any one know???

For those that really want LION as well as the new keyboard, I would say wait another week before ordering. Seems like there's still a few with SL going out.

I ordered on July 20 and received it yesterday. With Lion pre-installed and without any installation media. My HD is also WD one and screen is pretty good. oh, yes, the keyboard is the new one and the OS version number is 511a, a little different from the GM one.

Received mine on Tuesday and ordered around 9:00 AM EST on the 20th. Received with Lion and new keyboard.

Glad to hear that another person received an iMac without a LCD hat suffers from yellowing. Maybe Apple has finally resolved the supply problem of LCD panels.

Ordered my iMac 2.5 ghz, 500gb HD with magic pad on July 14. Snow Leopard was installed. No lion, and SL discs included.

Shipped directly from China probably, since I didn't receive it until 7-26.

I ordered one on the 20th, and so far it hasn't even shipped yet.
They even sent out a delay in shipment email.

I assume it's due to the HDD recall?
O well, as long as it comes with a working HDD and no issues whatsoever, I can wait all day all week! :p

Your box has a different picture on it than mine. No picture of a galaxy on the desktop, just the bluey purple splay.

To those who have received their new iMacs with Lion factory installed, did you get the re-install CDs? If you did, what is on them?

No, as mentioned before, no factory CDs are included.

I predicted this way in advance and people laughed and said it was ridiculous and even stupid for such an idea.

And now look at where we are ;)

I plan on doing the same next week, but getting the base 27" 2.7 i5 and adding the 256 + 1TB option on that, as well as the trackpad over the mouse. Hopefully by then it won't be an issue.

What about iLife 11. How would you reinstall it if no disk is included. Does it show as bought on the App Store, so that is the way you would reinstall?

I ordered my BTO iMac last Sunday, and now its come to my attention i wont even get restore discs? I want those discs, is anyone else contacting apple for them?

tbh i'm p**ed off that i'm forced to use Lion, i would of upgraded eventually, but for the moment i was going to use snow leopard until all the bugs from the os and other developer apps are worked out.

Received 27" BTO iMac ordered on July 20th today. Assembled in the USA and had lion pre-installed. New keyboard as well.
