No, but GTA IV is going to make me skip GTA V :p
In GTA V, they made the cars handle, crash, and overall behave like in a game from 2000 or a plastic toy.

The car handling in GTAV is exceptional. It's a vastly superior game than IV in nearly every way.

Better as in better or more realistic? I mean, the best handling I've ever seen is in that overhead 2D racing game from the 80s since the cars turn instantly... superb handling, but no skill involved.

It also sucks to ram a car in GTA V and only put a scratch and a dent in it. You used to be able to totally smash someone's car (and your own, with less damage to your own) if you were moving fast.

I also witnessed 3 car physics glitches within 30 minutes of watching someone play. One of them was where he hit a person lying on the road with a fake Ferrari, and the car instantly flipped on its roof.

Because being able to play Despicable Me on your iPhone and Apple TV is going to make people skip out on GTA V, The Last of Us, Halo, and Bioshock.
No, but The Walking Dead, XCOM, Shadowrun Returns, Bastion, and Frozen Synapse are all great games on iOS. In terms of raw hardware muscle, the new iPhone blows the PS Vita out of the water. Attach a physical controller, and there's no reason the iPhone won't be able to do everything the PS Vita does, but better.

Totally agree with you.

People that think ( well, insist) mobile gaming is Temple Run and Angry Birds obviously need to get there head out the dirt. Games like Deus Ex: The Fall, Modern Combat 5, Dead Trigger 2, XCOM, GTA Vice City, COD and Asphalt 8 are all games of a quality that overtakes the PS Vita (and I only talking about quality, I will get to performance).

Compare the Asphalt game on PS Vita to Asphalt 8 on iOS (running on an iPhone 5/5S say). The iOS version contains more content, loads faster, destroys the Vita in the graphics department of the game and best of all the price difference is huge; £19.99 Vs 69p!

So that is real world use, what about performance (in terms of figures).

A PS Vita performs graphically at 7.2Gflops. In comparison a iPhone 5 performs as 28.8Gflops and a 5S at 76.8 Gflops!. The iPad 4 performed at 76.8 ( the same as the iPhone 5S). A PS3 performs at 176Gflops. So it is looking like the next iPad will actually overtake the PS3.

If the iPad 5 gets the same jump graphically as the iPhone 5S got (267% increase in graphics [28.8 to 76.8]) then the iPad 5 should perform at 205 Gflops!!! That overtakes the PS3 with enough spare room for it to more powerful graphically than a PS3 and 2 PS Vita's put together :)

This kind of performance (with the iPhone 5S being slightly more that 10X faster than a PS Vita in the graphics department and the iPad 5 looking to overtaking the PS3) and controller support; I think that Sony can no longer compete in the portable gaming market.

I hope that the people that bash the mobile game finally wake up and see the reality :)

[GTA San Andreas 10 Year Anniversary next year for iOS, a PS Vita cant even run it :) ]

Pshahahaha what a joke.

Giant ugly attachment for your phone to play all those great games that don't exist.

My sentiments exactly. There are no games ios or even android that would justify buying a controller for a smartphone.

Casuals will eat this up though.

GTA Vice City, XCOM, COD, GTA III, Modern Combat 3,4,5 , Asphalt 7&8, Minecraft PE, Dead Space, upcoming GTA San Andreas, Dead Trigger 1&2, NOVA 3, Real Racing 2&3, Deus Ex: The fall to just name a few :)

You obviously are not looking / don't want to play them.

Also controller support will encorage more in-depth games to the App Store. So stop moaning lol

most of those are ports of old games. And the other ones are mediorce at best. I'm not saying ios has bad games. Because there decent games out there.
but money will be better spent investing in some quality vita or 3ds games if people want portable gaming.

call me old school. But I just think mobile gaming is joke. They just arent as good as console games

Sorry but I just don't see it the way you do. There is only 2 games on the 3Ds that I would buy, Resident Evil and MGS 3. MGS 3 was a port of an old game as suffers from a low frame rate on the 3Ds. A PS Vita, was going to by, glad I never as it appears to be the biggest fail ever.

I don't blame you if you feel the PS Vita / 3Ds is the only way to have the console feeling on the go (you have your reasons).

Remember that you have not played around with one of the controllers ( this controller is a bit crappy, look at the GameCase one, or the Moga Pro). The power of idevices (a 5S is more than 10X faster that a PS Vita in terms of graphics[7.2 to 76.8]) and controller support should make more developers make console games for the iOS platform.

Around 6 months from now, I'm sure you will find more that enough games to a console quality to fuel you gaming needs, just wait :) And I don't blame you if one of your reasons is the smaller screen on the iPhone, these controllers (GameCase/Moga Pro [search them]) and future games will be a whole lot better on an iPad mini or the slimmed down iPad 5.

Releasing a controller will lead to a cascade effect. Right now you only have a handful of non-casual games (which have already been mentioned above) because touchscreen UIs are only decent for a limited number of genres. With the release of a controller, there aren't any limits to what games an iDevice can work well with.

In the near future, we're gonna see quite a few good indie developers release games specifically tailored for the controller. They'll likely sell well, which'll attract more attention to the platform, which'll lead to more games. Eventually, you'll have AAA studios wanting to get in on the action, releasing console style games on the iPad. End result? The iDevices will finally be direct competitors to the 3DS and Vita. They've long since had the hardware muscle, and already enjoy a good deal of developer support. They just need the controller to make it truly happen.

As much as I personally want a Vita, buying one these days doesn't make much sense especially after the controller shells start coming out. I'd love to have Persona 4 Golden but I already have a 3DS also which has a lot more different and unique games than Vita. I bought an iPod Touch back in 2009 when gaming was starting to become huge on mobile devices but gave up eventually since I will always require buttons. I have 0 games on my iPad - this might change now with the controller support. I carry pretty much 3 devices in my bag if I'm going somewhere; phone, iPad mini and 3DS ^^

True, I'm sure EA has prepared controller support for FIFA14. If they added that, with the blink of an eye the game would be not far from the console experience really. Graphics, gameplay are pretty much alike but the screen is smaller of course, although you actually get more pixels on an iPad compared to a HD-TV.

And illegal.

But hey, stealing is free too, so go ahead and do some of that while you're at it.
WHATEVER -- you can't even buy these cartridges any more as most of the games are 20-25 years old! And even if you found a cartridge, getting a working SNES is hard to come by. Try and guilt me -- it won't work here. These rom sites have been up for AT LEAST 10 years. If Nintendo cared, they would've had them pulled YEARS ago. Most of the software companies that made games back then, aren't even business any more.

I buy plenty of games but I'm not going to quit playing old Genesis favorites just because my machine died years ago!

I need to be able to play zelda : Skyward Sword, while laying in my bed though...Also in class. :)
I'm not advocating you steal current software. If you want to play Skyward Sword, buy a Wii and buy the game. The stuff I'm talking about is 20-25 years old and can't be bought anymore. Well, I've seen some cartridges on eBay but they're $80 or more. Then you'd have to find a working machine. I'll just play on the emulators.

LogitechLeaks FTW. :p

I wonder if this can compete with the 3DS and Vita. It certainly caters to someone like me who doesn't game enough to warrant a handheld.

The iPhone/iPod alone won that race even before the Vita came out -- if the Vita game demos are anything to go by. The ones I've seen take forever to load a game and when I do get to anything the graphics suck butt. I can't believe Sony took a big dump on the Vita... I mean sure, they lost the smartphone race to Apple back when they were producing some of the best phones (before the iPhone came out) -- but to lose the hand-held portable race as well is simply pathetic.

What next -- no more good Sony earphones????
