Apple has in place stringent quality control standards on the assembly line floor to prevent mistakes in production, but that doesn't mean they don't happen.

misaligned-iphone-11-pro-apple-logo.jpg

Images shared on Twitter reveal an iPhone 11 Pro with a misaligned Apple logo on the back of the device, a misprint that is said to be as rare as 1 in a million.

The images, posted by Internal Archive, clearly show the Apple logo is canted up from the base and slightly off-center, making it closer to the right than it should be.

The Internal Archive, which often shares images of Apple prototypes, claims the misprint could "possibly be even rarer" than 1 in a million, which apparently made the device a sought-after item – it recently sold for $2,700, according to the Twitter account. The phone was purchased in an Apple Store and the customer kept and resold it.

Defective Apple products do make it out of the factory from time to time, but multiple devices are usually caught up in production faults, so it's unusual for a single impacted device like this to see the light of day – and even more uncommon for someone to pay over the odds for one.

Did you do a clean install? Or did you migrate over your files? I did a clean install on my M1 mini and I haven’t honestly had a single issue.

Other than sometimes the second display (hooked up through a USB-C adapter) doesn’t power on, just the HDMI. But it’s not crucial for my work so it’s more of a nicety to have dual screens for me.

So what your saying is your Mac has bugs and your willing to overlook them. Because it’s Apple

Huh, I haven't had anything like that and I'm running it on an unsupported 10 year old iMac! It's been super stable for me. Only issues I have are the Home app doesn't work, and weirdly MacRumours has trouble rendering in Safari (no other site does though).

I'm unclear why the article says it is a prototype? Is it not just a retail phone with a wonky logo?

Seems more likely that the logo is misaligned intentionally to identify the source in case of a leak.

Could have been done intentionally. If it was lost and found (i.e. iPhone 4...), Apple would immediately know where it came from.

Guys, the article clearly states that this is a production iPhone bought in a store.
So it is a production defect, not some intentionally marked prototype.

I’ve been using macOS Big Sur without ANY bug since it was released, and even before, since I was running the Big Sur Beta before updating to the stable release / update. And to make it even better, I’m running macOS off a Hackintosh, which should be way more prominent to bugs or system failures, and let me tell you that the only bugs I’ve experienced were system failures (where macOS kernel panics) and it was because I configured my Hackintosh wrongly, causing it to kernel panic. I use macOS for coding and some other miscellaneous stuff, like lightweight gaming and honestly I haven’t found any bug in the OS, and instead, found it way more usable than Windows.

Ok. But what does this have to do with my post?

Macrumours - it would be good if when you updated articles to correct mistakes that you noted the article as edited so that the people commenting on the error are not made to look as though they are incapable of reading!
