Have seen production mistakes myself, recently this Mac Mini M1 box where the Pull tab was the wrong way in such a way I still had to use a knife to open it.

I have one of these too. It wasn't that hard to photoshop the Apple logo so it was off-center. Of course I don't have the iPhone, just the pictures, like this article.

I had a launch iPhone 7 Plus that had an incorrectly milled volume down button. Best part, I took my first phone call with it and it was stuck, so I couldn’t hear anything.

That was the same day I learned that during those huge lineups at my local Apple store, they kept an extra 100-200 strictly for defective model exchange in the back during the launch weekend. The more you know.

I took it in the same day and about 10 staff members were laughing and in shock. It was perfectly milled incorrectly like it was set up for failure 🤣

What’s more likely? That process equipment was set up in such a way as to actually allow this to happen?

...Or 30 seconds in Photoshop?

A misprint iPhone 11 Pro that sold for 2700$. This misprint is extremely rare- I’d say 1 in 100 million or possibly even rarer.

I keep seeing dollar amounts posted like this online. Are schools really teaching this now?

Seems to me that people are always willing to accept less from apple. Always making excuses for them.
Not on MacRumors- historically people are very tough on Apple around these forums. There are some exceptions of course, but this isn’t exactly a haven for fanboys.

I really don't understand the market for mis-prints/defects/errors. I get that some people want things that are rare but these are mistakes that add and/or do nothing... Why do people run the prices of these things up?! They should be the bargain bin ones!

So what your saying is your Mac has bugs and your willing to overlook them. Because it’s Apple
No. What I’m saying is that I was disagreeing with them that Big Sur has been the buggiest OS that they’ve ever worked with. I’ve had one small problem. You saying you’ve never had any problems with any windows or Linux operating systems? I doubt it.

"Apple has in place stringent quality control standards on the assembly line floor to prevent mistakes in production, but that doesn't mean they don't happen."

Hmm, wait a second ....

Big S... the most buggy OS on earth.

I have used every version of macOS since version 6.

I have used every version of Windows since version 2.

I also used tons of other OSes.

Big Sur is among the least buggiest of all, especially considering it still has some point updates to go.

I never said that. You said that you are

Please. This board is full of Apple fanatics. Yes there are trolls.
I never hesitate to call out Apples do as we say not as we do attitude. They are far from perfect. They are a business which wants your money. Nothing else

I am, because it’s one singular bug. You accused me of doing it simply because Apple is the manufacturer. Which wasn’t true.

I said that because why would you call me out for overlooking one bug if you have done the same thing? He who cast the first stone sort of scenario here.

I’m not overlooking anything. If my iPhone has bugs a complain to Apple and somewhat here. I don’t give Apple a pass because they are Apple.
I don’t own a computer or tablet. Only a iphone

Currency indicator after amount is standard in some countries; presumably schools there teach it that way :) .

I don't know of any countries that use $ for their currency that use that convention but there are many countries out there. It might not even be 2700 US bucks (see what I did there?) but $2700 in the local currency -- because USD 2700 seems like a lot to pay (though I wouldn't pay anything).

You see this a lot in Europe: a lot of countries using €, some at the front, some at the back and I even often see 2€30 written on signs.

Given how many phones have been sold, "1 in a million" doesn't seem all that uncommon.
