I noticed it was down too (and confirming via iCloud Status).

For a company like Apple, this is disappointing. I don't remember AIM being this unreliable.

I turned iMessage off, and turned it back on and it has been waiting for activation for like 5 minutes.

Now it says error occured. WTF is going on?

Just leave it turned off for now. Probably won't bother checking again until later tonight. As long as I can send SMS, I could really care less. More of a annoyance than anything else.

Same issue here. I seem to be able to receive iMessages but I cannot send any. My 'send' button is also green in all my text threads. Hope it's fixed sometime soon.
