On this point: Piracy is hard to argue against when you’re talking about most retro games. If a game isn’t re-released, do you expect people to go out and buy the original hardware, game, and necessary adapters — costing them hundreds of dollars which don’t even go the the copyright holders?
That’s a poor excuse. Android users don’t just pirate games. They pirate apps. Developers even acknowledge the fact android users pay less often than iOS users.

Yes, I do. Piracy should never be something that is looked at as "okay" even in a situation such is that. We are truly living in a time when a vast majority of retro game have been made viable through legitimate means to those that want to play those games.

I just did the Math and 100k downloads out of 3 billion users and they want to brag about that? Also I’m sure it’s not the fastest downloaded app.

Just buy an iPhone. RCS will do 80-90% of what iMessage does, but without the Apple polish.

RCS is coming next year. But if you need iMessage that bad, seriously you can get a brand new iPhone SE for $150 at Walmart on prepaid.

Even today iPhone market share in the US including adults is under 60%. If it was organic, as in kids using what parents use, you'd see similar stats among teenagers.

Android reached the market share globally it peaked at because it's a lot more open. […]
And not to mention many models are less expensive than the iPhone with dozens of vendor’s products.

You are on MacRumors dot com. I think a lot of the people who want iMessage on Android are primarily iPhone users.
why not use What's App ? like most people do ?
Why force Apple to use some technology that we don't know much about ?

I’m in favor of anybody being a pain in the ass for Apple as long as they continue to let this issue fester.

I’m hoping RCS alleviates a lot of the headaches, but if it doesn’t, then the only way Apple can end this stupid issue is to release iMessage for Android.
this is not about technology, they don't care about consumers.
Google is loosing on data collection from messages because they released 4 different messaging apps in last 5 years and nothing worked.
now if they force Apple to use RCS standard then Google can kill What's App and all other messaging apps and get all messaging data because 99.99% of the people own either iPhone or an Android phone.

I’m sorry you feel this way. Retro gaming shouldn’t need to be a privilege. And playing them in a modern fashion shouldn’t be frowned upon, especially if they’re long out-of-print.

No offense but what on earth are you talking about?

Lmao just because you think you have the right to a game that others have paid for because it’s out of print doesn’t mean piracy is fine.

We all have a basic need to eat. It doesn’t give anyone the chance to steal from their local target

Do I need to explain the difference between physical and digital goods to you? If I download Super Smash Bros Melee for GameCube, who is being stolen from?

The developer who made the game that you didn’t pay for? That’s for starters.

Anything else?

It doesn’t matter if it’s digital or physical. You didn’t pay for it, it’s theft. No matter how you try to spin it mate lmao.

It’s what android users are known for and it’s why most developers look to iOS because android users do shady things like this.

Thank you, next.

Please - you haven’t lost a night sleep from it.

Let’s be friends with android already.

You guys are android-cist.

I agree with you, but I understand Apple’s reservations. I would 100% have an Android if it weren’t for iMessage. Instead I buy a new Pro Max every single year. No doubt there are many like myself out there.

I don’t think it was ever about the color, because there’s been blue/green bubbles since 2011 and it’s only become a real conversation within the last five years.

People just want to be able to send modern messages, it’s that simple.
It’s about 4 iPhone users being in a group chat and that 1 Android user ruins it for everyone. Then people say to the person “get an iPhone” so we can use blue bubble messaging.

I see these tweens of mine and there’s no worse peer pressure than with that generation.

Only a mater of time before Apple shuts it down again. Also not a good idea to give Apple ID credentials to a 3rd party app.

First of all, nobody is saying not to be friends with android users.

Second of all, android-cist? Really? You sound almost as ridiculous as the guy calling discrimination because apple uses green bubble for non android users.

Thirdly, i hope you don’t mean make iOS anything like android.
