Ever since iMessages crapped out last week it's been unreliable since for me on my iphone. I use iMessages through my phone, ipad, and Mac..never have a y syncing issues at all. Now lately since the latest down time my phone tends to not receive any of the latest messages but I receive them on my other devices. I had to turn iMessages off and on, etc etc even deleting original conversations to start fresh ones before it started working properly again. *knock on wood*

Such a shame that happens since basically all my main contacts all like to use iMessages group messaging so easy on there..

It's been a lot better the last few days. I'm not sure if it's luck, or what I did, but figured I would share what has worked best for me.

1) disabled iMessage on all devices (in my case, iPhone, iPad and MacBook Pro)
2) waited a while, enough time to watch a tv show, then come back to it, probably not necessary though
3) re-enabled it on one device first, I chose my iPhone, and disabled the iMessaging for my email address, leaving it just for my phone number (but still logged in with my Apple ID)
4) re-enabled it on the other devices (also removing any info besides phone number) after successfully sending a couple iMessages from one device

After this, I've had minimal issues since, maybe one or two messages that didn't send, or took a while, but no more of the sending in iMessage and instantly failing back to SMS, seemingly at random times. fingers crossed...

Anyways, this isn't the biggest deal in the world, but it's frustrating.

It's been dire for me. I got a message ten hours after it was sent, waking me up in the middle of the night. Every time I try to use it I find it very unreliable, so I keep it switched off, and regular SMS messages just work™.

I started using iMessage again about six months ago. Prior to that I stopped due to issues stated through out this thread, and simply used standard SMS / MMS texting instead. But since I started back, I haven't noticed too many issues. Occasionally my conversation threads go from blue to green. But other than that, not really any other issues.

I was having a heck of a time with iMessage. I turned it off in settings then back on and its worked flawlessly since. That was about a month ago.
