I just found all the projects & files, still saved in the projects pane... D'OH!

Segfaults & bus errors can indicate hardware problems when they happen in otherwise known-good software. But on SL, they are probably just a sign of more bugs that aren't fixed yet. 10.x.2 is the first real update. 10.x.1 is just the worst crud they didn't get fixed before the pointy-hairs decided to end the battle.

In the future: COMMAND+S

There is no Command-S in iMovie. It autosaves:

Saving changes to a project
If you have previous experience working with video projects, you may be in the habit of saving your changes. In iMovie, this isn’t necessary because all the changes you make are saved automatically. You can undo all of your changes up until the last time you quit iMovie and reopened it.

iMovie never alters the original source media, so changes that you make in a project do not affect the original video. You can restore a video clip or photo to its original state at any time.

Another thread wasted on ridiculous childish ranting, when the problem was the user not knowing what they're doing, in the first place!

How can you waste a thread?. They are not tangible objects, and cost nothing. I'm sure you are perfect, and never rant, so I'll let you ride your high horse... but don't run out of Apples for it.

In the future: COMMAND+S

Exactly.

You're a consultant?. I suggest you consult some iMovie tutorials, and then you'll know there IS NO CMD+S on iMovie.

... I'm sure you are perfect, and never rant..
No, I'm not perfect, but at least I RTFM before I blame the software. Overall, the chances of an average user screwing up are FAR greater than the chances that the software is defective, so user error should be the FIRST assumption.

You could avoid all these responses in the future if you'd start your post with something calm and sensible like "Having a problem with iMovie... need help" or "iMovie is supposed to autosave, but I can't find my files" instead of "iMovie '09 just crashed and lost ALL my project work (which is untrue) - ****ING ANGRY!!!" or "Well done, that's a ****ing ******** of work" or "Thanks a lot, I now have to work out why" or "One thing here is.... WTF?!!". If you act like a 5 year old throwing a temper tantrum, don't be surprised when people respond to you in similar fashion.

You're a sad, angry little man.

So... don't reply to me, then!. Bye.

So then you two should know better than to reply to me, considering how much better than me you seem to think you are. Have nice life, with your infinite wisdom, and cold, clinical lack of natural human emotional responses.

We *ALL* make mistakes, and at the time of posting I was very irritated - you're not some emotional counsellors, so how about leaving it here, to preserve the remainder of your integrity?.

My integrity is doing just fine; thanks for asking.

Really? and you really felt the need to defend it to a stranger?. I think you just WANT to make an argument, so, somehow, you can make yourself out to appear to be "better" than me. How I pity that need you have. I have been a complete idiot on this thread, and I am willing to admit such and apologise for that, unreservedly. Maybe you'd do the same, when you feel like lowering your standards to my level, huh?. :)

I haven't said or done anything that needs "defending".
I haven't said or done anything that requires an apology.
I'm not the one who acted childishly.
I'm not the one who made a mistake and blamed it on software.
I'm not the one who got angry and ranted.

If you want to keep it up, be my guest! If you want to drop it, it'll get dropped.

You are TRULY self-contradictory, as you have just defended yourself (again), five times in one post about NOT doing so. :D:D

Comedy value == 11/10

Continuation of thread value == -100

Consider it dropped.
