This update is an enormous improvement in iMovie. 3.0.3 is worlds faster, more stable, etc. Also, they fixed the stoplights in the top left corner of the window (the old version had them oddly scrunched together) so it looks like that's not going to be a reoccuring design theme in OSX. I'm so happy with this update!

The Ken Burns effect, which was previously shaky and ugly, is now nice and smooth. Also, it seems much faster on my 800MHz iBook. I'll try it on the iMac now.

Way to go Apple!

why are there 7 negative votes in the poll ??
Perhaps people who have top of the range powermacs and don't like when everyone else can use imovie without tearing their hair out;) or maybe windows users???

I agree!

I totally agree. Finally, the choppy music and sound seems to have gone bye bye.
This proves one thing. Apple does listen.
I'm glad Apple made things better for us G3 users.

8 now. Maybe because one clip that I can play and use with iMovie 2 leads to a crash in iMovie 3.0.3.... :(

The iMovie update is not there, nor was the iSync update. But the Bluetooth and Quicktime updates were. Very strange.

Same here, downloaded iSync manually and iMovie update manually.

I think it's to reduce server load, eventually they will come up, but we're not patient enough!

As far as I know -- you can only download iSync and i Movie from the website. Quit looking for it in update and go to Apple's website and get it.
No, all updates from Apple show up in Software Update, except betas (unless you already have, eg, Safari beta installed). It's what it was made for, so people don't have to go update hunting.

Importing clips bug fix?

Does anyone know yet if 3.03 has solved the problem of dropped frames from imported video clips.

I haven't used iMovie 3 because of that reason - that fault kinda made it unusable.

In the meantime I've had to use more sopisticated, expensive and not always easy to use software.

Was there a check box to remove Ken Burns effect in 3.0.2?

Finding lots of little improvements, still a few things to be worked on though Apple.

you mean windows software, right?

I found it almost impossible to use the protected AAC files I brought from the the music store in iMove 3.0.2--I could import them, but couldn't trim or move them around. Here's to hoping that 3.0.3 solves this problem!

Floop Beeping...

I was using iMovie 3.0.1 and when I imported my DV footage, I kept finding really irritating high pitched beeps, or what others have termed squeaks, at various points - all about 1 frame long.

I tried importing the footage in BTV Pro and the same thing occurred.

I downgraded to iMovie 2... and the beeps no longer appeared.

I wonder if iMovie 3.0.2 fixes this bug? I hope so. Anyone know from experience?

It was this exact bug that forced me to go back to OS9 for iMovie. I am really hoping that it is fixed. I feel naked in the land of 9.

I downloaded 3.03 last night, but have not tried it yet.

Stuff OS9.

I switched to Mac 6 months before OSX came out. I liked OS9's GUI but found it very unstable. Without the kernel, it was way too easy to crash. I seriously don't know how pro users got by.

I've been using my old PC Adobe Premie and ran a friends upgrade on it, and I run it in VPC (Wake me please...).

But I reeeaaally hate running any version of Windows on my Mac, so consequently I haven't done much video stuff since 3.00 came out. And to be honest, Premiere is too hard to use, too quirky for a part timer like me.

Eventually I will get the cut down Final Cut Express, just can't really justify the expense for something I don't do very often., and I don't know how difficult it is to use either.

BTW... Waiting for my PowerMate to arrive in the mail...can't wait for a new little toy to play with!!

Couldn't resist buying it after reading Mangoman's thread, as I had lusted after them for quite a while. I was homebound doing an assignment on my Mac all last weekend, so what did I do for entertainment? Went online shopping for the Powermate of course!!

Sorry, I waffle.
