The subject basically says it all. I am creating movies on iMovie, and trying to upload them to YouTube. I have done it in the past and it worked fine. It goes through the whole rendering then uploading process, but then when it says the video is online and gives me a link to the video, it just links to my YouTube channel with all my videos on it.

I uploaded 3 videos yesterday at noonish and they still don't even show up as processing. I logged in to YouTube and manually uploaded the videos and it worked. Is there anything I should be doing that I'm not?

For the record, I had a DVD, converted the vob files to one big .dv file with MPEG Streamclip, imported that into FCP, cut up the video into pieces and synced video audio to cd audio of the same source, did Export to Quicktime, imported them into iMovie, added titles, then uploaded to YouTube. (It's a DVD of a concert I played...I'm not uploading copyrighted stuff, don't worry ;) )

Thanks for your help!

My past personal experience is that it can take a long time for youtube to make them visible. Good luck.

Yeah, I know what you mean, but that is not the issue. The movie does not show up in YouTube as "Processing" like if I upload it straight from YouTube. iMovie just shows me a link to my YouTube homepage, and the movie never shows up. Any suggestions?

my title was too long. that's all. I guess "Good Thing + Your Guts (I Hate 'Em) [Cover] - Our Reel Big Fish Tribute Band Is Better Than Your Reel Big Fish Tribute Band" is too long, haha.

iMovie says videos are published but not showing on youtube

I am having the same problem. I have been uploading for a over a year with no problems. I recently uploaded several videos and the imovie goes through the whole process, even saying published to youtube. I get the option to view the video but when I click on that it takes me directly to my channel page.

I made sure the videos were not private and it has been days and they still are not there. One did post but that was all. I have repeatedly uploaded them to the tune of five times and they are just not there! I am on a macbookpro which is the same computer I have used the whole time. Please can anyone help?

I m new here and cannot find how to begin a thread. I can only see the post reply can anyone help.

Exact same issue; happened on my first attempt w/ iMovie09; never happened w/ 08.....

just published my 1st video with imovie 09 (which is awesome) been 1 hour and nothing has come up

I can never trust imovie to upload it!!! imovie 08 would sometime time out doing it

why do they include this feature if it doesnt work.......hope mine shows up soon

Shortening the title doesn't seem to be the issue, I tried it. I've successfully shared to YouTube from iMovie '08, but now iMovie says it's published... and it isn't. I thought Snow Leopard was the culprit, but I see from the age of this thread that it happened under prior OSs. Result? I uploaded "Yo! What Exit?" (my tune, with added road-trip video) the old-fashioned way: manually at YouTube.

P.S.: Go2 my channel and if you like the song, download the audio for your i-thing at one of two Mac-centric sites (www.MacJams.com/artist/Bob6stringer or www.iCompositions.com/artists/Bob6stringer).

I am having the same issue. The last two movies I have uploaded to YouTube from iMovie 08 have just never showed up. I have been posting 100's of video's and the last just nothing. I am clueless on what to to do fix the issue.

i have had the same problem as well. I actually was able to follow the link to the actual video but when i went to my home page it said i have uploaded 0 videos and this was over 2 months ago

iMovie To Youtube

When I first tried this, it worked fine. I recently had some trouble with iMovie and had to reload my original iLife and then update with iLife '09 again. I tried uploading a video to youtube and it went through the process and then said it's been uploaded to youtube, view or tell a friend. I click view, and it's not in my youtube uploads. I tried it several times, going back to iMovie and removing the upload to youtube and reloading it to youtube...same result, it's not uploading to youtube.

I made a copy of my videos to a folder and uploaded directly on the youtube site. This seems to have worked. But It would be nice to know why I can't do it on iMovie anymore...

Same problem here with imovie 09. The youtube forums are filled with people having the same issues. Bottom line is that imovie either does not work for this or is inconsistent. The solution is as follows:

- Export video to a folder in the size/format you want.
- Then use the youtube uploader to upload.

I tried this and my video appeared within minutes of upload.

Mark.

Is the iMovie YouTube upload functionality completely broken? Has anybody had any luck with this? If it's truly broken, I wish Apple would acknowledge that so we don't waste our time trying to make it work.

iMove 09 You Tube Uploader Bug

Yeap - same problem here. Uploaded one a few days ago and it was fine. Tried a 2.5 minute video upload yesterday - everything points to a successful upload on iMovie but it doesn't appear on You Tube. The visit tab takes me to my uploads but it's not there. No error messages or anything! It's like You Tube no longer accept iMovie upload mechanism?

Got the same problem, im gonna upload directly , i just wanna find out how to lower the video size

Same problem try this

I too used iMovie to upload first one worked fine then 30 mins later nothing. Got message saying uploaded but hadnt. One thing was to delete the youtube password entered in iMovie then enter it again each time you upload. Not sure but this allowed another upload. Bit of a pain to kep having to do this but keeps the convenience of using iMovie to upload.

this happened to me, and the problem is, I was doing a bunch of <15 min clips to put up a concert I taped. I had cut them and pasted into new projects, then removed the projects after it successfully uploaded. This was working fine until one just never showed up - and I don't have the clip that it came from anymore. ARRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG

Using iLife '11

I'm using iLife 11 and iMovie 11. The first three times I uploaded a video to YouTube there were no problems - worked like a gem. But then I don't know if Apple did an update or what, but ever since the first three I have the same problem as discussed in this thread.

iMovie 11 says it uploaded the video, but the video never shows up. According to a thread about this in the Google forums, Google says this is an Apple issue. It would be nice to have that function working again.

Fixed - Long names/symbol errors

I was having the same problem as well - iMovie 11 said that it uploaded but then it never showed up on the Youtube website under my account.

I stumbled across this page and read the post that mentioned long title names as a possible culprit.

Well I went back to my video in iMovie and uploaded it with nothing but the letter 'm' in the Title section and left Description and Tags blank. Then the upload went off without a hitch!

My original Title was both long and had symbols (+_*&. I had data in the description and tag areas too but didn't do enough testing to see the limits. I will edit all the info on the website after it's uploaded - and of course - your milage may vary...

Here's what to do, I've just tested this and it solves it. DO NOT type quote marks in your tags in iMovies you tube export window. They fail to be recognised by you tube and it rejects the video. To be on the safe side, input your tags in the editing page on you tube. I've tested this today and every video with quote marks in the tags fails. Take quote marks out and they show straight away in you tube. Let me know how you get on :)

Jaminist solution worked

All,
I had the same issue with iMovie '11. I could upload some movies, but one in particular would say it uploaded, but it would never show up on my Youtube videos page. After reading Jaminist's post about the quotation marks, I went back and noticed I had quotation marks around a word in the title of that specific iMovie project. I removed the quotation marks and re-uploaded. It immediately showed up on Youtube as processing, and within a few minutes the video was available. Great find Jaminist! Thanks for posting!

What if the quotation marks is NOT the issue?

I am having the same problem with my version of iMovie. I see it seems to happen with several. Up to 2 days ago, I was uploading video after video on youtube no problem. And then suddenly, yesterday, I go through the whole process and it tells me all is fine as usual, except that instead of a usual new youtube url for my video, I get a url that goes to my channel. I tried again several times and then tried with a brand new video and the same happened.
I have no quotation marks whatsoever in any part of the movie title or tags or anything.
Anybody can help? Please?
thanks a lot
