Its a bit bulky, and it will cause your shields to bubble if you are not careful applying.

Overall,I did not like. I would like at 2/3 the thickness.

Also not tacky like the apple bumper.

And the quest continues.

It's good that it's not too tacky.

Have you dropped it from the balcony, yet?

That's the only issue I had with mine was the thickness of the case. I tossed it around the house a few times just to test it out and sure enough it was pretty decent. Threw it on the floor and against the wall. I would like the Tech 21 version, but I'm leary after reading a review from another member.

Agreed, very bulky, AND, destroys screen protectors. I don't know which screen protectors Larry was using in the video, but it immediately bubbled up my Invisibleshield on the front, and Clear-coat on the back. Almost had to reapply them afterwards. I immediately went back to my Case-mate Hula. I wanted the ultimate in protection with the Impact band and great screen protectors, unfortunately it doesn't work.

I was using a SGP Ultra Crystal which I certainly think is regarded as a "great" screen protector.

It sounds like the wet install shields and this case just don't jive.

I used a Power Support Anti-Glare and took this case on and off my phone 5 or 6 times and NEVER had an issue with the screen protector.

I have this case. Love everything about it except the fact that it's difficult to text because your finger hits the bumper when you hit the outside keys. Also, my bumper bowed out slightly on one side. Hard to notice but it annoyed me. At any rate I emailed the co. to get a refund and received a reply in under an hour offering to send me a new case. They have also redesigned the bumper, making it slightly thinner on the inside for texting.

I think it looks good, it's def beefy but I dig it. I really don't see a better option for a person that smashes their phone regularly. This is my 6th iPhone and I'm pretty sure my wife is going to leave me if I break another one haha. I had the Otterbox Defender but it turned my jeans pocket inside out whenever I took it out of my pocket. It also collected a ton of lint due to the tacky exterior. The ImpactBand's exterior won't slide on a table but also isn't tacky enough to collect crap on it. The only other option I see for max protection is the Ivyskin Quattro 4, but I'd smash that case in under a week as the screen protection is made of glass as well.

To the screen protector comments, I don't see why you would need one with this case as it's never going to rest on the glass when you set it down. Anyways, great case IMO, not too bulky but gives max protection. Assuming the new one I'm getting fixes the bowing I'm done looking for cases.

Good info. I'm about to shoot them email to receive a new one as well. The texting and hitting the iBand on the sides was what really pushed me back to the Candyshell. Thanks again.

UPDATE: Got a reply back from BaseOneLabs in less than 30 minutes. He stated that they have revised the case and that they will let me know when it ships out to me. Definitely a great company to do business with.

I've been using this for a few days now, and I think it's great! I used an Otterbox Commuter with my 3gs, and this is the same thickness as that case was. My main concern with the iphone 4 was protection, and I don't think there's another bumper made that provides this kind of protection. Their customer service is great too, I've contacted them a couple of times with questions, and they answer questions quickly.

Also liking this ImpactBand, great fit and no problems with front and back protectors, the front edge does ever so slightly hamper edge of screen touch points as stated above but Baseonelabs have already offered to send me one of the new revised designs when they become available.

My revised case should arrive in the mail today and hopefully the problem where the edges intrude upon the screen has been corrected.

Got my replacement case. This thing is officially perfect. If you're hard on your phone this is the answer. The end.

Agreed. I've been trying other cases and I always go back to this one and today is no exception to the rule. If you have the older model shoot them an email and they will send you the revised model that works perfectly.

For anyone who purchased an impactband, did yours have alot of flash? I just received my impactband and theirs tons of flash on it, it looks sloppy on my phone =-/. I have contacted them, so lets see what they say.

Mine didn't but to be honest the bumper looks a little sloppy in general. It literally dwarfs the iPhone when on and since it is really thick it actually is about the size of an Otterbox Defender just awkward.

I like the idea (same way I liked the iBand for my iPhone 3g and iPod Touch) but it is disturbingly weird to hold and use. Really hard to describe.

I love how the impactband fit, I just couldn't get over all the flash it was literally sitting on my screen and back glass. The good thing is baseonelabs has great customer service and got back to my email at 430am and kindly offered to send me a replacement.

After rocking several different cases I must agree that it's heavy in size. I love the Impact Band, but it's an acquired taste mos def and most people don't wanna add any bulk to their phone. I rocked mine for a bit last nite, but now I'm back to the Apple Bumper.

I don't think it looks remotely sloppy. Mine fits perfectly tight. IDK I like the looks of it, it's beefy but I think it looks fine. I also have a FW Raw but I'm pretty sure it won't help if I drop the thing so Im sticking with the impact band.

Don't get me wrong, I love the ideology behind the product, hence the reason I ordered it. My issue is that due to the fact that the phone sits pretty deep inside of it, it is really weird to hold and looks a little sloppy in there. Almost like the case is for the wrong phone.

Also, since it is deep inside the case, it is harder to type on and use the touchscreen for me.

As for bulk, I'm ok with it as long as long as it is still comfortable to hold. I like the Defender and even the Ballistic case feels fine to me. The trade-off for size is fine due to the great protection. Those cases are also comfortable to hold.

The impactband, while protective, just feels disturbingly awkward to hold an subsequently makes the phone awkward to use for me.

I was wondering about that... guess it proves what I thought would happen.

Received my revised Impactband today and am really liking it and find it much improved. Size has been reduces making it feel much less bulky. Injection mold has been refined removing most of the more noticeable seams and cutouts are much smoother and cleaner.

I have an SGP Skin Guard installed front and back and the fit is perfect with no lifting or bubbling.

All buttons are easily accessible, and whilst the reduced edge still makes contact with my thumb when typing or using edge of screen touch points and controls it no longer interferes or feels like an impedance as it did before.

I think the weight, fit, quality, look and feel are spot on and although I have not thrown my phone against a wall to test its protective qualities it feels much more robust and sturdy than other cases I have used.
