No, nothing significant. I'm still always attached to the dang charger!
I Facebook a lot. I wonder if that's part of the big problem? Lol
You can use Low Power Mode in iOS 9 to see if that helps some more.

Man, some people on this forum are just a bunch of old grumpy pants!

Thank you for the tip. I turned off everything. If I need it, I'll turn it on.
Old Grumpy Pants! I like that. I should have chosen that for my forum name. Darn!

I disabled location services for most apps. Really, as long as I'm going to use the FB app I shouldn't even bother. That's what killing my battery stats.

Lol! Love the screen name!

Me too. Mine said Facebook is using 50 percent of my battery. Yikes! Safari is 30 percent. Are you aware of any other Facebook app we could possibly use?

Double, triple, maybe even quadruple your battery life!

I tried using the browser version since other people mentioned an app but said it got poor reviews. The browser version is laggy and I found I couldn't tag some friends into a post they wanted tagged to their pages. Maybe I'm just less familiar with the browser version, but the few times I've tried to use it, it was an exercise of my patience and I gave up and put the app back on.

In checking my battery stats it doesn't appear to be draining battery anymore while it's off. By off, I mean I used task switcher to swipe it off. But when I'm actively using it, it drains fast.

There are people writing reviews of it on the App Store claiming it is doing something in the background it's not supposed to be doing. I am unable to determine for myself what that could be.

Only ones I have on are find my phone and location sharing. You can turn the others off as they do little for you and serve to provide location info to others. Gps uses lots of battery. Their are several articles that go into detail as to what these setting do. I also have screen motion turned off. Are you using the ad and tracker blocking feature of iOS 9 for Safari. Speeds up downloads, reduces data usage, it makes this site for Instance, load almost instantly.

Any chance you could point me to said articles? I just googled it, but didn't quite find this exact info. And the "Ad and tracker blocking feature of iOS 9 for Safari" is this an option in the settings or do I have to DL an App and if so, which app?

Thanks.

If you have time, please do share what else you turned off. Thank you!
You can turn all of them off without anything changing really--many would keep the Find My iPhone on so that its available on their device if it gets lost, and perhaps Share My Location if they share their location sometimes, but beyond that there's not much there that's needed, only based on your use and if something you usually use or do that might need something from there.

Get ad blockers like crystal, 1blocker, Purity in App Store load em up.open them and configure, suggest ad block and tracking to start. Then back to Safari in settings select blocker you want to use, and turn on. That's it. When you reload macrumor's no more top, bottom side ads. Loads in couple seconds. And if you ever want to see a particular page without the blockers, just refresh by holding the refresh key till menu comes up where you can choose to load without blockers. This is one time load after that blockers are back on.

Basically, background refresh and just about all of the notifications. Set location services to only be used in certain apps while I have those apps open. For most of my stuff, I set it to never be used. I also kill apps when I'm not using them.

I didn't really bother with brightness at all. It's already set to pretty low, and I don't notice that the screen seems dim at all.

These actually don't drain much battery at all...maybe give you an hour at the absolute most. They don't use GPS but your existing network to get your location.

The only time I can think these may be a possible source of battery drain is when you are in a very poor network area.

Some of those features use less services and perhaps less often for less time and thus less battery, while others use more perhaps more often and for longer periods of time which might have more of a noticeable impact.
