It's been 24 hours and still no luck for me. Greed is the main culprit. Clearly, they couldn't sustain so many customers. Still they kept on adding the new ones. M really disappointed after a good start.
People ...please don't throw away your $20!!!!!
Imzdl is good people BUT they don't have the structure to support all the customer. They do have a disclaimer regarding service not working all the time....but it does not relieve them providing a decent service.
Agreed on the GREED!!!!
Everything was working fine up until today, now none of the servers are working. As someone stated earlier it's probably down to greed. They've oversubscribed and now the servers can't handle all the requests. Sucks really, it worked perfectly the first 4 days.
And everyone probably thought I was crazy when I said this 2-3 days ago that it boils down to greed with these Spire hosts. Pure money and greed.
Oversell your server, don't have readily available 4S keys every 24 hours, etc. If you can't connect then its 99% NOT YOUR FAULT, but overselling of the servers and not enough keys.
It works this way. Each 4S key can comfortably accept 15 connections (that I know, could be a few more). You have 5 4S keys fed to the server, you can hold 75 people on the server. Problem is twofold; either they are selling 90 people on a 75 slot server, which means 15 people cannot connect at all while 75 are saying oh it works fine. This could explain the discrepancies we are seeing with some saying it works perfect and some that can't connect at all. The 2nd issue is lets say the day you sign up they had 6 keys and all 90 people could connect just fine- everyone happy. But the next day the server is only fed 5 4S keys, then 15 people are seeing cannot connect ("I can't help you right now" from Siri).
My feelings, if you're going to host do it responsibly. If you don't have a 100% reliable source for the number of keys you need every single 24 hours, then DON'T HOST and DON'T TAKE PEOPLE'S MONEY. Period. If your servers cant take the customer load you are signing up, DON'T TAKE THEIR MONEY. It's SO simple here.
There's a difference between oops I can't get that 5th key for another 6 hours, and this kind of wild negligence occurring with VARIOUS PAID Spire servers. This is people paying hard earned money for a service that hosts misrepresented to these people as running just fine, while disclaiming an and all liability for anything they do wrong.
No one sees a problem with this? If you are honest you don't have to disclaim liability other than a small sentence that says we cannot guarantee 100% up time due to power outages, natural server hiccups, etc. Not that we promise nothing to you despite the fact that you gave us money.
Sorry for being long winded but I'm sick of these Spire hosts taking advantage of people while people dumping large sums of cash at them ($20 a pop times 500 users is a decent amount of money we're talking here).
If you cannot connect for long periods of time, or never could, DEMAND a refund. Everyone ask for refunds of charge back. If you don't get the service you paid for them do NOT just sit there and bend over and take it. If your cable TV was out 20 days of the month, you'd be cancelling service in a heartbeat, why lets these Spire hosts get away with this? You owe them nothing and they owe you service for the money you paid.
These people should theoretically have 98% and up uptimes if they were PROPERLY PREPARED with daily 4S keys and a good server setup anticipating reasonable demand. But they are simply not prepared with daily enough daily keys and did not invest any startup capital for proper servers (go out and buy 3 or 4 to start, not 1 when you sell 100 slots the first day). They are hedging on people paying them to then go buy more servers 1 by 1. Not a proper business model, and yes once you start selling slots its a business.
I will stick with free servers for now from the people who do it for the fun of it, not to make profit off you. And I have found a few free ones than seem to go down less than paid ones at that.
