and I was feeling pressed because I have to add the mother in law to the family plan! At least she doesn't want and iPhone. basic service for her!:p

It's a scam folks and I'm sure Apple gets a kickback from GlobalBlue to offer this "service."

The VAT (IVA in Spain) is 18%, yet the invoice lists the discount at 91.37 euros, which is 15.2%, and here are the details:

iPhone 4G: 599 euros
Quota: 91.37 euros
Base: 507.63 euros
Adm Charge: 31.37 euros
Refund (EUR): 60.00

The admin charge is $45, this for a service that other luxury stores handle for free, i.e. when you shop at Hermes or Gucci, it's free. And, folks, I'm sure GlobalBlue pays Apple handsomely for this golden "opportunity."

And notice that the "base" or basis is already nearly 3 points below the actual VAT of 18%. What a scam!

Otherwise, it's a pretty simple transaction. No wonder 51% of the market is already Android... :D

OK, I did it. I will explain the process in greater detail in an updated post, but basically it was a breeze and the refund was 60 euros or $85. I highly recommend this way of buying your own unlocked iPhone on your next business or vacation trip to Europe. :)
