We had Apple IIE I think, the green / black screens. Then we got the Lisa's. My first computer was RadioShack TRS-80, then an Atari-ST then Atari-TT.

When I was in grade school like others here, there were no computers yet. I didn't start seeing computers till I think I was a senior. I can't remember what they even were because I never went into the room where they were.

I did take a typing class sometime in high school as well with the electric typewritters. I never did learn how to type however and I still use one hand to this day.

The first real computer I owned was a Texas Instruments Home Computer probably around 1985. It ran basic.

In Elementary we used Apple IIs. The library later got a Centris I think, but none of the students were really allowed to use it.

In Jr High and early high school there were IBM's I think. They used windows 3.x. Then later in high school it was generic PCs with Windows 95 or 98. In college it was 70% Dells and 30% macs. We started out with the fruity iMacs running OS9 and upgraded to about every new mac every year.

i graduated in 2000...and we had Macs from K-12. many a rained-out recess was spent playing Oregon Trail. many a study hall was spent playing Sim City 2000. :D

i'm pretty sure they've moved to PC's now for whatever reason.

I remember playing Oregon Trail on those green and black screen macs, back in grade school. God that game was so fun.

There was no such thing as a pc or mac when I was in grade school, or even hs for that matter. The first hobbyist computers came out in college (early 70's). The IBM PC came out in '81, and the Mac in '83.

I think Apple actually gave good deals to grade schools through some sort of program. I am not 100% sure on this, but later when I was in high school I was into networking and helped the school run networking cable/install them.

Grade school (elementary) = 1-5

Junior High (Intermediate) = 6-8

High School (??) = 9-12

At least around here.

In my neighborhood grade school is grade 1-8 although grades 6-8 are usually at a different school/building away from the younger kids.

My dad donated four of the "gumdrop" iMacs (when they were brand new) to my elementary school for the teachers of my grade to use and growing up we've always used Macs, but the computer lab at my elementary school was Windows. Ironically, my computer teacher preferred Mac to PC. BTW, my elementary school is private so there aren't a huge number of computers, but most of the teachers use Macs for personal use.

We had crayons, pencils, scissors and glue. Yes, I'm old.

I didn't have email until my third job after college, though I did start setting up Web sites in 1996 and had my own by 1999.

some Macs in my school but mostly PCs, i have a feeling that they're converting slowly because every year the upgrade stuff, and last year they added Macs so hopefully this year they add more?

i go to a private high school, tuition pays for all the elaborate stuff in the school. i'm a junior by the way.
