Very speculative, but anyone want to share their opinions on what they think the maxed out in-store will hold?

I think they will stick with 1TB SSD, and higher graphics option, just unsure if they will go with 32 or 64 on the ram.

My guess is 64GB RAM and a whopping 8TB SSD.

Edit: Misunderstood BTO. Apologies. My guess is baseline model (2.3GHz) at base specs and the (2.4GHz) at base specs.

Thinking 2.4 i9 / 32GB RAM / 5500M-8GB / 2TB SSD. Guessing because it has the shortest BTO lead-time . $3899.00 ++

Is the $3899 model the only in store SKU with 32GB RAM? I don’t need all of the other upgrades, but do need the RAM. Guess I’ll call when the mall opens. I can’t build any other 32 GB configs that show pickup available. Just curious of anyone else found one.

it used to be that there was a “Better, Best, Ultimate” set of SKUs. Ultimate was always Best + BTO upgrades. They took away the Ultimate SKU at some point, but the in-store BTO model represents that “Ultimate” SKU of old.

Summary: No, there wont be more than the one config available.

They used to do it with desktops too, but I was told months ago that they only do it with laptops now.

In the past, they used to have maxed out versions available in store. In this case 64GB/8TB. Not anymore :(

The high-spec in-store version is indeed this: 2.4 i9 / 32GB RAM / 2TB SSD / 5500M-8GB / Space Gray for $3899++. Just ordered and picking up this morning.

My local stores only showing base configs until November 27th, I would buy this model today if available. I may go check out in store and see if they have them just not online.

crazy not to go 64 with the other specs where they are at.

I have one store in range with stock of the BTO. Irony is that I ordered this config online and have to wait until next week because I assumed they were going to pack a bit more in.

Oh well.

I want to get a BTO 2.3 / 32 / 5500M-8 / 1 TB ($3853 CAD with discount) but I'm thinking of biting the bullet and getting the 2.4 / 32 / 5500M-8 / 2 TB ($4530) even though it's overkill. It's a $700 difference but the unit is available in store; if there are any issues it'll be easier to exchange.

Thoughts?
