in-store pick up - do I have to come in early?

Given this, why would anyone opt for in-store pickup rather than home delivery?

Working all day and can't sign for my phone at my apartment. I work 10 minutes from the nearest Apple store, so I'll just swing by at 6 when I'm off.

Yeah the non-preorder stock will likely be out, so the store will be back to normal operations capacity. There will be more free sales people to take care of your pick up order.

I read somewhere that for in store pick ups it will stay the same until the day before or the day the phone is being released, it will change to "ready for pick up" which makes sense because they aren't shipping it to us. Mine still says "processing"

I'm also picking my phone up @ the SF store. Kind of looking forward to the launch day craziness but think I want to avoid that early morning rush and possible longer wait times. But I also have to have enough time to show the new phone off at my office as well!

Anyone worried, that their phone won't be there... like they may not get enough phones to cover the preorders? I don't want to go there until night to pickup the phone ... I got the iPhone 6 + 16gb. Tmobile.

Hopefully you're still not in line by noontime but I may get an earlier jump just I won't be able to concentrate on anything else until I get the phone.
