That's what I am planning to do, order online with delivery then go check out the store on launch day. No way I'm gonna camp out here though, it's already hitting 90 here in the LA Area in the afternoon and I'm sure it'll just get worse. Luckily my store is just down the street so it's not that far of a drive.

I just hope the carrier gets here early. FedEx usually gets here before 1PM even on launch day and UPS may get here by EOB on a regular day, if I'm lucky.

Yes it was hot today, but late April is usually in 70s.

I preordered and did in store pick up for the first time with the 6. I think I had to wait around 15 minutes in that line before getting my phone. I will definitely do in store pick up again, the Apple Store is only 5 minutes from my house and it was fun to see and talk to people that had camped out.

The line for pre-order pickups in NYC was a total cluster which was a couple hours long. Yes, that's for pre-orders. So delivery to work for me hoping it gets delivered day #1.

Did you ask them why they had camped out all night instead of pre-ordering and just picking it up or get it delivered? I don't get what the fun of staying all night on the street when there is a much easier method.

Ha no I didn't, although many just seemed to be enjoying it.I should have prefaced by saying the location was in a mall so nobody was exposed to the elements. I got in just ahead of somebody that had been in line since 11:30 PM the previous night. The employees were great and had a cart with Starbucks coffee and Entemann's danish for everybody in line. Camping out isn't for me but in store pick up was great.

Do you remember the preorder mess? It was virtually impossible to get through. I couldn't stay up all night trying either. I didn't camp out due to work obligations, but had I been I might have. Again, the launch atmosphere is a fun experience for me.

I have got the 10th and 24th off my work to proceed with going into the Apple store, I think I'm going to go to Breahead Shopping centre as it will be indoor queuing from late on...

Im in Scotland and don't wanna be outside all night in Princess Street :(
