New Haven Ct. Apple store was very organized. 2 lines. They kept the reservations right on profile. Probably about 80% Asian buyers. Hard to tell who were scalpers.

Reached Boylston St., Boston for my 6pm reservation. Over 100 people in line.

Wait time 2hours.

Utter crap. Utter utter crap. Not standing in line. Will buy it later on when there are no lines. This is the worst experience I have had.

What plan do you have?

next plan.....

These phones are great. Touch ID is smokin fast...I think the keyboard turning into a track pad to move the cursor around is the best feature. 3D touch is cool, live photos isnt that cool....

I paid in full for AT&T and I didn't activate in store. Walked out with sealed box.

Did they require any account info for it? I have a reservation today for a T-Mobile device I'll be using on AT&T so I don't have T-Mobile account info to use, but since I'm paying full price they shouldn't need that info.

I called my store and they said account info will be required. I hope that's not the case.

No info . I told them I will go home and activate it. I told them this "I just have to pop in my simcard as the phone is not on contract, so i will go home and do it" and she gave me the phone, i paid using apple pay + discover ( 22% discount) so i got the phone for 585 + tax effectively and left within 5min

If you pay in full they don't care if you activate but with any financing (carrier or Apple) you'll need to have your phone service activated on the new unit, even if you're off-contract.

Arrived at 12:20 for a 1pm reservation yesterday, i walked out of the store at 12:33 with my phone. Used AUP, they activated the phone with it never leaving the box.

Just got back. We said it was a gift for someone on a different account, and we were buying it outright so there wouldn't be a problem. The specialist agreed and just processed a normal transaction without any carrier involvement. Thanks everyone!
