Anyone else slightly disappointed the way the lightning headphones come in the box?
In the past, we've always had the nice little box to store our earphones in, now we have a crappy little cardboard holder!
I'm not impressed with this!!

You're the only person I know who actually keeps the box. It's a waste of resources and I'm glad they switched to a more green solution.

I think the point is those EarPods are useless when October rolls around. I personally cant wait to get rid of those stupid long wires that get tangled and jumbled in my pocket.

They still have use though with the iPad, macbook etc... but something clogging up that port is sort of useless now.

I think you might be the only person that's actually upset about this, but I did think it was a little tacky when my dad got his iPhone 7 and pulled that out of the box. I even made a comment to him about how I feel Apple is getting cheap on us.

No big deal, though, because I never keep the case after opening it.

I carried apples headphones in my work bag in that case all the time!

I'm a little bummed about it too... I had wondered how they would make it work with a larger lightning plug instead of the headphone jack... disappointed in the result.

why don't u just use the same plastic casing from the previous one? its basically the same pods except it has a lightning connector. im pretty sure u can use the same plastic box if u want to.

Im not upset, I just found it strange they moved from an elegant solution, to a cheap looking solution!

I usually keep the earbuds as spare in my work bag, so having them kept neat and tidy is much better than having them loose and getting tangled up!
Think Ill just recycle an old box!

I'm not avidly upset about this but I did use that box to store my headphones, when I used them in the past. I've been wireless for a couple of years now though.

I found a couple of those boxes yesterday in my house. I never use them but it was more asthetically pleasing to have them in a box than cardboard. I'd seen MKBHD's unboxing video before my phone arrived on Friday so I knew before hand.

I purchased a pair of Bose QC35 wireless headphones and do a lot of travelling over seas, absolutely love them and would never go back to wired

Apple earpods are the only ones I've ever found comfy since their release! No others compare for me.

Timmy found a way to save a few more tenths of a cent in costs. That makes him happy. It's what he concerns himself with primarily instead of making great products like his predecessor, who stated several times that profits will take care of themselves if you produce great products and experiences. It's a small thing, but once again we have the perfect contrast between beancounter and visionary.
