Anyone else slightly disappointed the way the lightning headphones come in the box?
In the past, we've always had the nice little box to store our earphones in, now we have a crappy little cardboard holder!
I'm not impressed with this!!
Yes, I actually wrote an almost identical post on Friday. It looks cheap in the box .... but more importantly I used that plastic case to store them in my purse!!!!!

Timmy found a way to save a few more tenths of a cent in costs. That makes him happy. It's what he concerns himself with primarily instead of making great products like his predecessor, who stated several times that profits will take care of themselves if you produce great products and experiences. It's a small thing, but once again we have the perfect contrast between beancounter and visionary.

Gosh... stop being such a theatrical drama queen. Including such a stupid plastic case that probably gets thrown away in 9 out of 10 times just doesn't suit an environment-conscious company like Apple at all.

Feel free to not buy the iPhone 7 because they don't include that precious piece of plastic that marks the difference between "a beancounter and a visionary". That will surely make Apple reconsider their decision... :D

So then use the box from an older set. Wouldn't that solve your issue. I don't see the problem here. Man we are picky now a days. Welcome to first world problems.

Apple earpods are the only ones I've ever found comfy since their release! No others compare for me.
They tend to fall right off when I run with them

whenever i actually use the iPhone headphones i put them back in the box. i don't like it all tangled up drives me crazy.
When I use the EarPods I just throw them wherever it ends up. I roll them up tho.

Thats apples 'courage' creeping in again, cost saving bahahaha. I would feel let down too OP... Iphone 8 will come in a happy shopper plastic bag next time around instead of a box.

I'm going to guess it is because of these things:

1. Cheaper to use cardboard than plastic box
2. The current plastic box does not have the adapter holder
3. Apple is going green and eco friendly

How on earth do you efficiently store those back in that case?

About 2 minutes of practice is all it took to learn how to repackage the EarPods.

I made a thread about this too. Looks like the EarPods case went the way of the sim pin.

I found the cardboard to look rather cheap compared to the normal casing that it comes in but as a few others had mentioned prior it might be due to being eco friendly which I can understand.

Golly gee, Caelius, did I hurt your feelings by deriding your favourite fruity tech company or something? What drama do you imagine was involved in my post, theatrical or otherwise?
Including such a stupid plastic case that probably gets thrown away in 9 out of 10 times just doesn't suit an environment-conscious company like Apple at all.
Enviro--LMFAO! Who? Apple? Hahahaha! The same company that produces non-upgradeable hardware so you have to chuck it out and buy a whole new one? The very same one whose business model seems to be yearly upgrades from their users? Hahaha! Maybe you're right: maybe this should be in the theatre...as a comedy! You can be the writer since you're clearly very funny. :)

Why do you believe it's precious to me? You're not trying to generate drama here, are you? Gadzooks! Surely not?!?
that marks the difference between "a beancounter and a visionary".
Do you honestly believe it's not a good example of the two mindsets or is this just an opportunity to defend Apple against infidels such as myself?
That will surely make Apple reconsider their decision... :D
LOL! Unlike some people here, I'm not some pathetic, blind follower/defender of a company that makes tech toys and--at least used to--some useful tools. If they don't reconsider and continue along the path of pissing off many of their customers, as evidenced on this and many other forums, that'll be their problem, not mine.

Huh, Apple got rid of that? I never used the in-box headphones so this doesn't really matter to me, but I can see how some would be disappointed. They didn't always include that little box, though, so I don't think it's a huge deal.
