So in other words, if we ever see a "Where's emw" thread, we should assume that you're not really gone? :p
Do we ever really know that about anybody?

If I stop posting it is because I am taking masters level courses at a foreign university when I am only a junior at my home university and classes started just about the moment I stepped foot in the city.

My home page should have the details, or will, if I have time.

If I stop posting, I'd imagine I'd get a few emails and calls from the London MR bods who have my number...

If I'm still not responding, then I've been hit by a London bus...

And if I stop posting on the same day then you'll know that we'd both just been in the pub and never saw that bus coming

If I suddenly stop posting, it was probably because I was killed in a plane crash.

Or my girlfriend finally killed me with a shovel, as I slept.

If I stop posting, I'll be lurking instead. I could never leave MR, its too damn entertaining. Or I'm dead ;)

Well, I'm almost 50, rather sedentary, eat poorly, have a little angina and have been feeling rather run-down lately. So if I "disappear" it's probably because I've finally ruined my ticker. Seriously. Maybe I'm being paranoid, but I expect my lifestyle to catch up with me eventually.

On the other hand, if you've read my posts in the political forum, it's entirely possible that I'll end up in Gitmo. ;)

On the first hand again, if you're familiar with my screen name, you'll know that I disappeared back in 1995. :D

I've thought of another reason for disappearing without warning: If my Internet connection goes down without warning. I woke up yesterday to find that I had no connection. Tried all the usual tricks such as resetting the modem to no avail. Even dialup wouldn't work! Two calls to my ISP and one to the cable company and it's still not working :(

Edit: And now it's working :D

Duff-Man says....I have already disappeared a couple times for a month or more, the last time was almost 3 months I think. I get busy with other things and also just need a break from this stuff.....oh yeah!
