they didnt promise to release Pro and MAX version of every cpu, so they might never come out either
Very true. We're all assuming, based on past history, that they will, but you're absolutely right, they haven't promised anything.

I'm still at the stage with my M1 MBP where I could wait another year for the M6's if I had to. If I really couldn't wait, or I just didn't want to, the M4 Pro/Max MBPs are still awesome machines.

For me, I've learned that the secret to being happy with what I have, and not getting frustrated with the slow pace of new product introductions (to paraphrase others) is to not spend my time trawling rumor clickbait sites. And yet, here I am. 🤣

How powerful the m5 is if I was Apple I def would put those chips in a redesign it they plan on dropping it this year.

Looks like waiting for the M5 Pro is not worth it , as the base models are almost similar in performance and the only real big jump is in local AI which most people wont be doing. So I expect same for Pro and Max models. I wonder if its better to get M4 Pro for 30% off once m5 pro released then selling it in few years and upgrading to whatever there is by then.

With the M4 Max 16" having a delivery schedule of March 16-March 13th, it's extremely likely that MacBook's will be getting a refresh ASAP.

I googled "m5 max" to survey the latest rumors (if I google "m5 pro", it just gives me results about the existing M5 MacBook Pro). Here's what it told me:

This is what we get when they try to shoehorn AI into places where it's not needed.

Maybe the real surprise will come when Apple calls the M5 Max the m6ax, or the am6x.

why would late delivery schedule means m5 is about to release? if anything, id be a very upset customer if my M4 MAX have not arrive and Apple released M5 Max for the same price.

At this point, they're just trolling us. Expect nothing today and the Apple Cloth 2.0 tomorrow.

They released AirTag and Watch Band that is one of the reasons I said Tim Cook turned Apple into Walmart.

They may probably release cheap MacBook. Certainly no M5 Air as some suggested because BTO is about a week wait time.

This guy has been causing some of us extreme mental distress.

It means that production is decreased, resulting in 2-month wait times. This is Apple’s (every companies) main strategy for every product.

1. Reduce production so deliveries are pushed back significantly
2. Release new products.

If you’re looking for a Mac, DO NOT buy one.

i am waiting for the MBP m5 pro , while what you say sounds reasonable, i also remember lengthy BTO times means high demand and they can't keep up

I'm shocked there was no M5 Pro/Max MacBook's today. For Apple to release new hardware on Monday and then nothing for the rest of the week is out of character.

Also, where is the new Apple TV?

Yeah this is a weird week in apple land.

Was fully expecting Apple TV/homepod yesterday and then MBPs today. Hopefully still a chance of M5 Pro/Max tomorrow. If not then maybe they'll refresh the whole laptop line together in Feb/March (including the new MacBook) in a short keynote vid. Maybe they're holding the HomePod/Apple TV for that as well come to think of it...
