After trying an obscene number of cases, I think the one I've finally settled on is the new Speck See-Thru. I have a couple of Sliders but haven't used them much due to scratch concerns...what I've used most is a Solo FX and several FX knockoffs, and the back of my phone is MINT. I'm trying desperately to keep it that way so I'll get maximum resale value next summer when I decide I have to upgrade to the 4G. :)

Seidio Innocase II

Basically an InCase slider, but has a felt lining on the back to prevent just this type of problem.

Seidio Innocase II is just as bad

Not in my experience with two different black iPhones. The Seidio Innocase II has been great on both iPhones and neither has a scratch on the back or on the bezel.

The Seidio Innocase II has proven to me that it is the best minimal case out there.

Apple said on the phone I'd recurve a conformation email and someone would call me to arrange to collect my current case... Neither of which have happened and it's been two days now. Should I phone them again? :s

A Seidio Innocase is slightly thinner than an Incase. The new ones have a plastic covering over the the Logo opening. Watch out for counterfeits on the net. The real ones have IPH3G, rather than small letters. Youtube for fake vs new.

Hasn't scratched my iPhone Yet.

After going 3 days without an email or phone call

I phoned Apple back, and was informed I will now get a refund instead of a replacement. And will be sent an email with instructions within 24 hours.... its not been about 30 hours and still no email.

Anyhow... I went into a carphone warhouse last night and got myself another one... I tried before I buyed and it fits much nicer.... and the bottom now comes off first, and neither half feels completely glued to the phone :)

Still waiting for instructions to get my refund.... might have to phone them again tonight.... because if it carries on like this im going to be too late to get a refund and it wont be my fault.

That's pretty maddening OP. :( I currently have a Switcheasy Capsule Rebel on my 3gs and I like it. Have a go. It's good and offers full protection without causing scratches.

All cases, regardless of what anyone says, will cause scratches at some point. Dust will get trapped between the case and the phone. It happens.

I just grew out of using cases. Whatever happens happens.
