At least no one can say our Police arn't doing anything about it.... no p!ssing around with 'war on terror' just get the job done!

There is a time and place for war on terror but now its just catching the b@starts ... it's evident that their networks run across the country and uprooting it is the most important thing now.

Bad detonators?

Anyway, I want these terrorists to stay alive so that the police can interrogate* them for useful information.

*beat

A professor on the BBC just said that if it was the same group, they were most likely using the same explosives. The particular explosive used on 7/7 needed a certain type of detonator, which was the same one used yesterday. However, the explosive degrades over time, and after two weeks, he said, you might be left with 1/3 or 1/4 of the effectiveness of what you had...

So the terrorists just let their explosives get old... which is why they failed.

And now there's protests of "excessive force" used against the guy the police shot, which initially I felt as well... however, after reading the story, he apparently had on a heavy thick coat with wires coming out of it, and leapt over the turnstile to run onto the train despite repeated exhortations to stop. I'm sorry, but you just can't behave like that in this environment and expect to remain alive. Heck, the cops would've been remiss *not* to use deadly force, especially after he made it on board the train with a potential bomb. Oh well.

Bleh, what a couple of days, I live really close to the Hammersmith and City traintrack in Shepherd's Bush. Our house was closed off until this evening, which is an absolute nightmare, I had to check into the Hilton last night. Going to work in the same clothes you wore the day before, not being able to have a shave etc. definitely not fun. T

Given that the experts said in the papers that the bombers made a mistake going for the first/last carriages of the Tubes and should have gone for the middle of the train for maximum effect...

This pisses me off. Today they were saying on BBC news that the terrorists used the wrong type of explosives, which degraded and so didn't fire.

WHY NOT ****** TELL THEM THE DOOR ACCESS CODES FOR MI6 HQ WHILE WE'RE AT IT?

The 'experts' should stop giving so much 'expert advice'.

I'm sure the Police would rather deal with such protests than have to explain how did nothing to stop a man they had been trailing, who had then repeatedly disobeyed their instructions and then killed bystanders by detonating a bomb.

Fortunately, the police shooting people dead is still a relatively rare occurrance in this country – the BBC is reporting this evening that the police believe the dead man was 'directly linked' to Thursday's attacks... I suppose we'll find out more over the next few days.
