Nope. The people who buy a new phone every two years, sell their old phone to someone who keeps using it and needs a charger. When you're old phone dies, you can still use the charger. Most chargers outlast the device they're sold with.

The problem is not the number of chargers in the world, but the need for shipping them in separate boxes. Just offer the iPhone with or without charger and everybody can buy exactly what he needs. But if only one person needs both a phone and a charger, then twice as many delivery trucks will go on their route. Also you can share the charger between devices and with multiple ports you can charge devices simultaneously.
This is back to people who are critically dependent on their cell phones only have one way to charge them, which I think is bs.Nope. The people who buy a new phone every two years, sell their old phone to someone who keeps using it and needs a charger.

You are making the specific use case the general use case. If apple sells 150 million cell phones a year to 150 Million customers, it’s obvious 150 million don’t need chargers. Everyone that doesn’t need a charger is a net positive for the environment. The problem is not the number of chargers in the world, but the need for shipping them in separate boxes. Sad news for any fanboy out there who was adamant that Apple would not be forced to change their god-made plan and would release an EU-only USB-C iPhone
A tiny net positive for a few people, who were already so wasteful buying lots of phones that they already swim in chargers. Versus a giant net negative for everyone that needs to buy a charger separately.Everyone that doesn’t need a charger is a net positive for the environment.
I have two dead 12W Apple chargers here who back to differ. And I don't think I've ever had a charger die. Cables are a different story
When you say a few people you actually mean about 120 to 130 million, imo, don’t need a new charger because they already have a spare in case their chargers catches on fire. That doesn’t sound like a tiny net positive. Sounds Like a win/win for the environment.A tiny net positive for a few people, who were already so wasteful buying lots of phones that they already swim in chargers. Oh yes, I have a spare 5W charger, but I'm using a 10W charger after both of my 12W chargers died. And I will be buying a 20W charger for my next iPhone, because I don't want miss out on fast charging. But I probably skip all this wireless charging nonsense, that's how eco-friendly I am. Ask me in how many separate boxes all my chargers shipped? Including the notoriously frail old MagSafe chargers, probably more than a dozen. I really hope the braided cables live longer. When you say a few people you actually mean about 120 to 130 million, imo, don’t need a new charger because they already have a spare in case their chargers catches on fire. Yea it's mostly the sheath cracking, and it was with A>L. Haven't had many issues with C>LI've never had either die. Are cables failing a major issue or something (other than physical damage, obviously)? Seems like after 20-30 years I'd have experienced it by now if so.
Oh yes! It's way better now, but around 2010 all white Apple cables died quickly, because of too much plasticizer/softener.I've never had either die. I got it. You purchased products and now you have boxes. Apple will never solve that problem. You wanted 20 watts , MagSafe, 12 v etc. I have an iPhone 14 pro max. I could charge the thing with a 10 year old 5 w charger, but then I’ll miss out on fast charging from my apple 20 watt charger.Oh yes, I have a spare 5W charger, but I'm using a 10W charger after both of my 12W chargers died. Apple is not the only electronics manufacturer.Someone didn't get the memo, Lol..they are 2 years behind.
Clearly this is intended for India manufactured and India sold hardware. Why is this an Apple story, when all Apple global hardware is already going USB-C.
Waste of money on a 1st world issue.

the EU law forcing USB-C also disconnects chargers with the sale of the device, you won't be getting one with any new phonesDo you know how much Ampere the USB port of a typical laptop provides? Between 0,5 and 5A.
A wireless charger is still a charger, you must buy and ship separately.
USB ports only provide power when the PC is running. It's the most ineffective way of charging imaginable.
Again, burning fossil fuels in your car only to charge a phone! Hilarious.
Everybody needs a charger and nobody gets one with the phone.
I would agree. Every iPhone needs its own charger (or potentially, one that’s shared with another lightning ported device). That charger just doesn’t need to come in the box with the phone.Yes. Every single iPhone is useless without its own charger.
Your 14 Pro Max's battery will thank you for it. Heh heh ... fast charging tends to heat up the battery and shorten it's useful live. I've also switch to charging my iPhone using low wattage "slow" charger and plan my charging in advance. I only use fast charging when I have no choice.I have an iPhone 14 pro max. I could charge the thing with a 10 year old 5 w charger, but then I’ll miss out on fast charging from my apple 20 watt charger.
International standard is garbage. Metric system? You're on to something there. You're free to switch to the international standard power plug and while you're at it, think about the metric system.
