he main downer of this movie for me instantly, will be Shia LaBeouf...no offense to him, but he's the one of the most unlikely people I'd have expected to see in an Indy film..p

I can agree with that - I saw him in Holes (his debut) and he was okay, but I don't care for him as an actor and have heard he's got an absolutely foul mouth...

I just saw the film in Belgium. There's one every 15 minutes with a pauze in between, something that rarely happens to a movie in kinepolis (antwerp cinema). The film is perfectly fine for me. I have never seen an Indiana Jones film, but i could follow everything. The only dissapointment is the end. I don't really like the end.

Other reviews are looking very good as well, although Roger Ebert gets into more detail than I'd like. If you're the kind of person who'd rather be surprised and delighted going into this movie, rather than already knowing what it's all about, I'd advise you skip his review.

only beaten by those long trailers which practically tell you the whole story already and show all the good action scenes to make it even worse

on indiana jones 4 ... i found it quite good even though it got a little bit overboard with the fantasy especially at the end.. should have made it little more archeological

(Iron Man was really awesome too for a movie based on comics(which i never have read as a european) ... Robert Downey Jr. simply perfect for that role)

and "Hey Dude, where is my Car ?" is simply legendary

I give it a B+

Enjoyed the movie but did think that the ending was dominated by too much special effects and that one fight scene w/the commie surrounded by the ants was a bit too long.

basically one long fight scene dominated by special effects. It never quite reached the point of 'boring" but don't expect "acting" or "drama" or anything other than a bit of silly fun

BTW, I think it's hilarious that there have been several cases, on the web and on TV, of archaeologists assuring us that real-life archaeology is nothing like what's seen in the Indiana Jones movies.

Nooooooooooo...really???

Music in the movie

So I saw the movie at the weekend and i was pleasently suprised as all I ve been hearing are the mixed reactions from everyone. One thinkg that slightly annoyed me is the music was not as good as it was in previous movies, it could have been used ALOT more in the movie to make a better atmosphere. Not only that when I first watched the trailer on http://youtube.com/watch?v=FDUxwcwdjyQ there was a great song used, yet it was nowhere to be heard in the movie which i think is a shame as it was a great song and worked well with the trailer on youtube. Does anyone else agree with me or am i just talking nonsence? In any case if you do agree with me, go listen to that very song here http://www.myspace.com/honeyrydertheband
Maybe when the song comes out (its called NUMB) ill wait for the indy DVD and synce them up myself!
Other then that little rant...
Im glad even though the movie is 20 years after the last one, it still had a (imo) flow to it.....

That's because they're doing it wrong.

If you've ever met any archeologists, you know you're right.

Seriously, I know many field archeologists. For sure they're a different breed. They can hardly think of a better way to spend a day than standing in a pit up to their kneecaps in mud.

hm my sister told me the archeologists she knows from university went together to the movie theater for the opening of the movie, which i found quite amusing since it's pretty much like astronomers going to an opening of Armageddon

They're trying to convince themselves that the profession is actually glamorous when in reality it is more about digging ditches and being completely filthy a great deal of the time. It's an odd profession -- very academic and meticulous, but at the same time, mostly about dirt. They sure seem to see a lot more dirt than anything else.

Are you serious? Its set in the 1930s why would it have modern music? Does not make sence.
I like the song though but definitly NOT with good old Indy? Even when you watch the trailer with the song (from honey ryder- I think?) you cant hlp but want a little suspence music like people are used to in Indy....
In my opinion anyway!

I guess I just wanted to mix the 2 things I like together, the song and the movie.....
Next time ill watch/listen to both Indiana Jones and Honey Ryder seperatly :(

Hmm... well...

:

Hiding in a fridge to survive a nuclear detonation was a bit ridiculous, especially as the entire town was destroyed except for the fridge, which rocketed up into the air and landed a safe distance away...

And then falling down an enormous waterfall (3 times) only to wade away at the bottom where the water was shallow enough to walk through...

It's one thing suspending your disbelief, and another having if seized from you and trampled on.

[Spoilers]

All in all though, I enjoyed it. I'll give it 3 our of 5 bull whips. Or a B, if we're being alphabetical.

Much Ado, did you know that they were gonna originally do that fridge thing in Back To The Future as they were originally gonna make the time machine a fridge.

Theres your lesson of the day, kids! :p

I heard about that :). Apparently they weren't too keen on the idea of kids hiding in fridges in the hope that they'd end up back in 1955...
