I was hoping the big head would congratulate me.

Think about what you could do with the hat, where it could go.

I was trying to put it on the big head, and when that didn't work I was trying to incinerate it on the hot rock.

Just that I couldn't get it to balance without making the bucket lighter.

wow really?! I should have tried that, but for the record it can be completed without fiddling with the water tap

You must hang the stone up so that it gets warm, then melt the snowman on it.

A tip for balancing the head if you still need one (in fafafa): Hang the shortest "splitter" on one side of the main hooks, then hang the head and another heavy item on the short splitter. Even without any counterweight, these will not hit the water. Then just hang all the other stuff on the other side. This shouldn't be as difficult since that hook should hang high now.
