I really, really like JellyFin, it works great with my setup. Atm on my LG tv I am using the official Jellyfin app and I am generlly very happy, except for a few modern Dolby Vision types/profiles/encoding it doesn't support and it turns to transcoding if there is not an HDR10 to fall into. I am thinking for the first time ever to buy a tv box, and I think I'll have some patience for the new apple tv to get released so I'll be up to date for >5y in matter of hardware and modern encodings.

And, if it weren't for Infusion, its smooth work with Jellyfin and how many good things I am reading about it tbh, I would consider only Android or just stick with my webos.

So, great job guys! And nice thread here! (This Lifetime license price hurts though 😛)

The latest Infuse that allows me to stream from iCloud Drive is INSANELY great.

Thank you SO much for the clever solution for Apple TV also (involves creating "links" on an iOS device).

Anyway to get Infuse Pro to show all my movies instead of having to click show more or show all, forgot what it was called not looking at Infuse Pro at the moment, when on the homepage of Infuse Pro with a Apple TV ?

Home Screen lists will show the first 30 items. If you want a quick way to get to the full list of something you may consider adding a category as a favorite. This would allow you to jump into the full list with a single click.

We’re excited to announce that Infuse 8.5 is available today, bringing new streaming options, better media server support, and a handful of thoughtful refinements to iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, Mac, and Vision Pro.

This release introduces transcoding options for Plex, Emby, and Jellyfin, along with improved search results, media server updates, and enhancements to WebDAV and media server connections.

Together, these updates make Infuse even more flexible, reliable, and enjoyable to use with all your favorite videos.

Transcoding options for Plex, Emby, and Jellyfin

Infuse has long been known for its ability to directly play almost any video format, but there are times when streaming the original file isn’t ideal—especially when watching remotely, using a slower connection, or playing higher-bitrate videos away from home.

With Infuse 8.5, new transcoding options are available for Plex, Emby, and Jellyfin. These options allow Infuse to request an optimized stream from your media server when needed, helping reduce buffering and improve playback reliability when bandwidth is limited.

Direct Play remains the best option whenever possible, but these new controls provide added flexibility when a smaller, server-optimized stream makes more sense.

How to use transcoding

By default, Infuse will continue to play the original video at full quality when pressing Play, without making any changes to the video or audio streams. When a smaller version would be useful, you can long-press the Play button to access the new video Transcoding option and choose from a list of available transcoded versions.

If your server already contains multiple versions of a video you can also use this same flow and select the Version button from the list.

Also, if you prefer to have this prompt appear automatically when pressing Play you can adjust the Transcoding option in Infuse > Settings > Playback.

Improved search results

Search has been refined to provide a more consistent experience across all platforms.

Results are now organized more clearly and predictably, making it easier to find the movie, show, episode, collection, or person you’re looking for.

Infuse 8.5.1 is now available! 💪

Featuring native background downloads (iOS 26+), GuangYaPan (光鸭云盘) cloud streaming, improved multi-version selection (Emby, Jellyfin, Plex), more reliable network streaming, and more!

Hi, would it be possible to add an option to toggle HDR on/off in Infuse, similar to IINA? Thanks.
Infuse will automatically use SDR when connected to an SDR display. Otherwise, videos will be played in their native HDR format whenever supported. We can consider other options for the future.

I use Infuse on my 16" M4 MacBook Pro with a XDR Mini-LED screen, but HDR actually does more harm than good for me here. While OLED displays make it look amazing, it just doesn't quite work for me on Mini-LED.
